00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. is very grateful to Oman and all the people who helped to free the Filipino seafarers.

00:10In addition to the President, they are the reason why he immediately signed the Magna Carta for Seafarers.

00:17Alvin Baltazar of Radyo Pilipinas has breaking news.

00:22The 17 Filipino seafarers of the Haute Rebels were released after being stranded in the Red Sea in November 2023, more than a year ago.

00:35This was announced by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. in his social media account

00:40where he announced that all the 17 Filipino crew members and other crew members of the MV Galaxy Leader are safe.

00:49The President said that our fellow Filipinos are safe in Muscat, Oman

00:55where their loved ones are with them after the last development.

01:01The President thanked Oman Sultan Haitham Bintarik and his government

01:08for the success of the rescue of the 17 Filipino seafarers.

01:14The President also praised the Philippine government agencies and private groups

01:20for their unwavering support to the foreign government

01:24in order to free the Filipinos after 427 days.

01:30The President added that because of the courage of the Filipino seafarers,

01:33that is why he signed the Magna Carta for Filipino Seafarers.

01:38This is to protect their rights and rights,

01:41ensure their full employment,

01:44and ensure equal opportunities in the maritime industry

01:47including access to education, training and development

01:51in line with the existing domestic and international laws, standards, and conventions.
