00:00I was born with an extremely rare syndrome called Fraser syndrome and one of the defining features
00:07I suppose you'd say of that syndrome is an eye condition called cryptophalmia and crypto
00:15basically means hidden. So you have a very underdeveloped eye that's basically covered
00:21over completely with skin, no eye lid, there's no eye lashes and most crucially there's no opening
00:30for the eye. So that is what I was born with. I think historically there's only been 250
00:37cases recorded the last time I checked.
01:00So
01:16I've decided to get my socket stitched up and have the eyelids closed over the top.
01:22So that's the procedure I'm going for next week at St George's Hospital in London.
01:28It'll be yet another adjustment but I hope it's the final adjustment
01:33and then I can take my time processing everything.
