Targeting cartels could distract US military

If the US military was to target cartel leaders, it might be distracted from its real mission to defend the country and its security interests around the world, former assistant director to the FBI Frank Figliuzzi says.

00:10the other nations that those cartels exist in would certainly have something

00:14to say about attacks on their soil but let's be let's be honest here throughout

00:20history we've seen very minimal cooperation from countries like Colombia

00:26like Mexico with regard to totally dismantling their organizations what my

00:31I'm concerned about though is if our military becomes caught up in targeting

00:35individual leadership in cartels and we know that throughout history leaders

00:40come and go and there's others ready to replace those leaders we could see our

00:44military actually distracted from their actual mission which is protecting the

00:49borders of the United States protecting national security interests around the

00:52world
