00:00The former president could have simply fact-checked his allegation on blank pages on the DBM website
00:06but then choose otherwise, irresponsibly run his mouth as he has been known to do even during his
00:11reign and wound up with a pie or egg in his face. But as President Ferdinand R. Marcus Jr. reminds
00:18him, never in the history of the republic has the GAA passed bicam and presidential muster
00:24with blank pages contained. Our Clay Zilpardilla has more. President Ferdinand R. Marcus Jr. has
00:32dismissed as lies the allegations that certain portions of the enacted 2025 national budget
00:38were left blank. He's lying. He's a president. He knows that you cannot pass a GAA without any,
00:48with a blank. He's lying. And he's lying because he knows perfectly well that that doesn't ever
00:56happen. The president was responding to claims made by former President Rodrigo Duterte and Davao
01:05Third District Representative Isidro Ungab who alleged discrepancies in the national budget.
01:10They claimed some sections were left incomplete, potentially allowing them to be filled out in
01:15at a later time. President firmly refuted the accusations, emphasizing that no government
01:21budget has ever contained blank items. He urged the public to visit the Department of Budget and
01:44Management website to verify the accuracy of the national budget details. Malacanang earlier
01:51denounced what it described as a spread of fake news and misinformation by Duterte, calling it
01:57malicious and urging the public to condemn it as a criminal act. Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin
02:04assured that the 4,057-page national budget was thoroughly reviewed before its approval.
02:10Bersamin maintained that no project, program, or activity was left unfunded before the budget was
02:16signed into law. The Palace called on Duterte's camp to act responsibly and stop spreading false
02:22information. Meanwhile, the DBM clarified the pages being circulated online are from the Bicameral
02:27Conference Committee report and not from the General Appropriations Bill or the final enacted
02:32General Appropriations Act. From PTV Manila, Kleisel Pardilia, Balitang Pabansa.
