00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. was shocked and amazed by some provisions of the Prevention of Adolescent Pregnancy Act.
00:08Details of this were reported by Daniel Manalastas of PTV Manila.
00:14President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has just been presented with the Senate Bill No. 1979,
00:22or the Prevention of Adolescent Pregnancy Act.
00:25The President said that although the importance of teaching reproductive health,
00:29prevention of early pregnancy, and human immunodeficiency virus to children,
00:35he was surprised by the contents of the bill.
00:38I was shocked and I was appalled by some of the elements of that.
00:48Because this is all this woke that they are trying to bring into our system.
00:56You will teach 4-year-olds how to f***
01:01that every child has the right to try different sexualities.
01:08Even now, the President has assured that with the current form of the bill,
01:13it will not be satisfactory for him.
01:15This is ridiculous.
01:17It is abhorrent.
01:19It is a travesty of what sexual and sex education should be to the children.
01:25What about the parents?
01:26They don't have the right to decide what and when the child will be taught.
01:34And I am already guaranteeing that this will not pass.
01:39But if this bill is passed in that form,
01:44I guarantee all parents, teachers, and children, I will immediately veto it.
01:51Senator Joel Villanueva supported the President's sentiment up to the bill.
01:57He said that although the implementation of the Adolescent Pregnancy Act should be supported,
02:01the innocence of children should not be sacrificed.
02:06Let us also be reminded of the importance of families,
02:09as stated in our Constitution,
02:12which recognizes the natural and primary right and duty of parents to rear their children.
02:19Senator Risa Hontiveros clarified some provisions in the bill.
02:24She is ready to listen in order to amend the bill.
02:28CSE contains the very same things you support.
02:32Teaching kids anatomy,
02:34the consequences of early pregnancy,
02:36that is also what we support.
02:39I am willing to accept amendments to refine the bill so we can steer it to passage.
02:45For Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri,
02:48he supported the provisions in healthcare and support for teenage mothers.
02:53But his support for teaching sexual education to minors is not included.
02:59Police should not force minors to learn about morality and humanity.
