Lenvatinib is an anticancer targeted therapy drug, mainly used to treat various types of cancers. It works by inhibiting certain proteins referred to as tyrosine kinases that prevent the formation of cancer cells and blood vessels that feed tumors. This is a complete use of this drug. 1. Thyroid Cancer Lenvatinib is a drug that has been approved for the treatment of differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) which has progressed or has not responded to radioactive iodine therapy. It is quite useful in the slowing down the growth of the cancer and also in reducing the size of the tumor. 2. Liver Cancer (Hepatocellular Carcinoma - HCC) The first line of treatment for non-resectable hepatocellular carcinoma (cancer of the liver). Raises survival and controls the cancer from metastasizing all over the body 3. Kidney Cancer (Renal Cell Carcinoma) It is used in combination with another drug, everolimus as a treatment for advanced kidney cancer which has not responded to other drugs. It helps in slowing down the progression of diseases.
