Scientists from Harvard and MIT have developed a groundbreaking cancer treatment using genetically engineered natural killer (CAR-NK) cells. These modified immune cells destroy cancer more effectively than traditional methods like CAR-T therapy—without the dangerous side effects. In lab tests, they wiped out lymphoma in mice and lasted longer in the body, offering hope for faster, safer, and more accessible treatment. This could revolutionize how we fight cancer and even treat autoimmune diseases like lupus. Watch to see how this natural cancer killer might change medicine forever.

00:00Scientists may have just found a natural cancer killer that's safer, faster, and more effective than current treatments.
00:06A team at Harvard and MIT has created supercharged CAR-NK cells,
00:11a new kind of immune cell that can destroy cancer without the dangerous side effects of chemotherapy.
00:16These NK cells already exist in our bodies and naturally kill invaders without being trained,
00:21but researchers made them smarter and stealthier.
00:24They genetically engineered them to target cancer and avoid rejection from the body's own immune system.
00:31When tested on mice with aggressive tumors, the results were jaw-dropping.
00:35Standard treatments failed after two weeks,
00:38but these modified CAR-NK cells stayed active for three weeks and nearly wiped out the cancer.
00:43Even better, they don't trigger a severe reaction called cytokine release syndrome,
00:48which can shut down organs during chemo.
00:50And it only takes one extra step to create these supercells,
00:54making it possible to have ready-to-use treatments right after diagnosis.
00:58Experts believe this could replace traditional CAR-T therapies
01:01and possibly treat other diseases like lupus, too.
01:05This isn't just a breakthrough.
01:06It could be the future of cancer treatment.
01:08A little bit bigger, maybe notice it won't work until it...
01:28When we try to focus on that 또 device like lupus,
01:33that will make sure that the system isn't...
