00:00I believe that Malaysia needs the support of the defence industry to play a significant role.
00:17The defence sector and segment have their own challenges and issues that must be given attention to in ASEAN.
00:29In order to help Malaysia to succeed in ASEAN, the Ministry of Defence will pay attention to the following three augusts.
00:44First, to ensure that throughout the ASEAN administration, there has been no increase in tensions or fluctuations that could lead to conflicts.
01:06Second, the Ministry of Defence will ensure that ASEAN is elevated as the best diplomatic platform in managing a range of challenges in the region,
01:18especially in addressing the ADFM and ADFM Plus targets that will be held from the 17th to the 21st of November this year.
01:30Third, it will make ASEAN an opportunity to prepare various training, cooperation and defence diplomacy in this area with member states,
01:43observers and other ASEAN strategic allies.
01:49In the context of international security, Malaysia's involvement in international security and security missions
01:59under the international body PANJI-PANJI, such as the PBB, will continue.
02:06Malaysia's participation and support in the UNIFIL mission, for example, will continue to be achieved with commitment.
02:14However, it does not mean that we will not speak out to ensure that any improvements and the implementation of these missions
02:28will be given due attention by the bodies involved, such as the PBB.
02:35I am committed to bringing this important message during the statement at the UN Peacekeeping Ministerial Meeting 2025 in Berlin in May.
02:52The Ministry of Defence will ensure all approaches, preparations, training methods and appropriate assets
03:03to enable Malaysia's effective participation and contribution in world security missions to be given the appropriate attention.
03:17This commitment is based on the belief that Malaysia, as a progressive country,
03:25must remain a neutral, principled and firm voice and voice of the people.
