Leeds: What have been your experiences of flu this winter?

Have you, your friends or family been impacted by flu this winter and did you get the flu jab?

00:00Just before the Christmas period there was a person behind me on my bus coughing and sneezing

00:05and I mean you can hear the difference between somebody covering and not covering themselves

00:09um you know I'm not really proud to say I did lose my temper a little bit and I was like can you

00:13for the sake of other people you know what I mean like I know maybe you may not care but

00:17I gotta go sit next to my grandpa on Christmas dinner and I don't really want to have the

00:21self-conscious thing of did somebody on a bus get me ill that then I'm passing that on.

00:26Working in paediatrics A&E I think it's really really important for the community to take the

00:31flu jab particularly just before Christmas I think it was like a mini epidemic of influenza A.

00:36And I get my flu jab now and I get my Covid jab and I've never had any problems so

00:42so far so good.

00:43If we all have that self-preservation and treat that towards how we treat everybody else

00:49I think generally you'd have so much less illness.

00:53I'd much prefer someone calling sick on a Thursday or Friday if it's busy

00:57that means I'm not feeling ill Saturday, Sunday, Monday.
