00:00On the opening of the session of the House Committee on Appropriations Chairperson, Bakante,

00:08Ako Bicol Rep. Elizaldico announced the reason for his removal from the post.

00:22President, the congressmen are back in session this afternoon in the House of Representatives.

00:28The session has just started for this year.

00:31There are already a few events in the plenary of the House of Representatives.

00:34Then, Senior Deputy Majority Leader Sandro Marcos will move or motion

00:39to make the position of the House Committee on Appropriations Chairperson vacant.

00:45This position was held by Ako Bicol Rep. Elizaldico.

00:52Speaker, I move to declare vacant the position of Chairperson of the Committee on Appropriations.

00:59There's a motion. Chair, here's the objection.

01:03Said motion is carried.

01:07In a statement, Ako said that he will be removed from the post of Chairperson of the House Committee on Appropriations.

01:15He said that the decision was heavy for him and that the reason is his health.

01:19He said that he needs to give priority.

01:22In the past three years, he has been proud of his accomplishments

01:27such as assistance to the Kapos Ang Kita Program and as the President of the Budget.

01:32He assured that this is anchored in the 8-point economic agenda of the President.

01:37Speaker Martin Romualdez stood up in the plenary to give a speech in front of his fellow congressmen.

01:46Romualdez insisted that in the coming weeks, they will hold oversight hearings

01:51to ensure that the country's fund will meet the needs of the people.

01:57To those who attacked us to stop our investigations, we have a message for them.

02:05We will continue the work that the government has entrusted to us.

02:10We will not back down in any fight for the country.

02:22Chila, the session of the Chamber is over for today,

02:25but it was not announced who will replace Representative Elizalde Co.

02:31as Chairperson of the House Committee on Appropriations.
