00:00Growth is the number one mission of this Labour government, and to grow the economy we need
00:17to help great British businesses export around the world, like Brompton Bikes are doing here.
00:23And that's why I've got with me a delegation of senior UK finance bosses to unlock tangible
00:30benefits to help British businesses export and trade with the second largest economy
00:35in the world, and always doing that in the UK's national interest.
00:39There's undoubtedly been moves in global financial markets over the last few days.
00:45I'm not going to provide a running commentary on that, but what I would say is that the
00:50fiscal rules that I set out in my budget in October are non-negotiable, and growth
00:56is the number one mission of this government, to make our country better off.
01:00And that's why I'm in China, to unlock tangible benefits for British businesses exporting
01:06and trading around the world, to ensure that we have greater access to the second biggest
01:11economy in the world.
01:13And when we have these pragmatic conversations with Chinese leaders, and indeed with Chinese
01:18businesses, we will always be acting in Britain's national interest.
