00:00The majority of Filipinos are in favor of the investigation of the House Quad Committee
00:04as well as other issues based on the Pulse Asia survey.
00:08The committee's mega-panel was happy about this.
00:11This is what Daniel Manalastas reported.
00:16A survey of Pulse Asia was released which was commissioned by a strat-based group
00:20where the majority of Filipinos are in favor of the investigation of the House Quad Committee,
00:25particularly their investigation of extrajudicial killings,
00:28illegal drugs, and the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators or POGO.
00:32Based on the results, 61% are in favor
00:36while 24% said they cannot say if they are in favor or not.
00:4111% said they are not in favor.
00:44The survey was conducted from November 26 to December 3, 2024
00:49with 2,400 respondents.
00:52Based on the survey, there is strong support in the National Capital Region
00:56while there is weak support in Mindanao.
00:59According to the Secretary General of the Camera,
01:01this shows that the public is really interested in monitoring what is happening in the hearing of the Quad Committee.
01:08When I talk with my relatives in the U.S.,
01:11they said even some Filipino-Americans are interested in watching the Quad Committee proceedings.
01:20So I wouldn't be surprised if that's their interest.
01:2861%, that's quite high.
01:32But the Secretary General admitted that it is still possible for the survey to change.
01:36It could change or maybe increase or decrease.
01:41We don't know.
01:43But what it shows only, and I think this is my personal opinion,
01:50what it shows is there's really a genuine interest on the part of the public.
01:59The survey also showed that 27% of Filipinos are hopeful that the Quad Committee will result in the creation of new laws.
