Greenland strategically important

US President-elect Donald Trump is unlikely to annex Greenland, but will rather seek a closer cooperation with it as Greenland is of strategic and economic importance, Chair of Republicans Overseas in the United Kingdom Greg Swenson says.   #Greenland #Trump

00:05saying he doesn't want his country to be annexed again. Donald Trump might go

00:10ahead and annex Greenland anyway, mightn't he? Yeah, I'm not sure about

00:13annexing Greenland but I think he's looking to perhaps end up in much more

00:20of a strategic relationship with Greenland and we already have, the US

00:23already has an Air Force base there and so I think there's some merit to that

00:28extra cooperation. So I thought, I thought your guest, I won't try to butch

00:32your name, I apologize, but was, you know, that his response, his answer was really

00:36measured. Of course, you know, people want to be independent. I'm not sure that

00:39Greenland can survive without subsidies from Denmark or from the US if it were

00:44to be part of the US. So, but I'm really glad that there is that

00:48measured response and that there's some understanding that, you know, how valuable

00:53Greenland is as far as defense and security goes. Again, we have a base there

00:58already. It's really critical for communications and satellite, satellite

01:04connectivity, as well as the fact that there's critical minerals underground.
