00:00A labor force survey conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, or PSA, showed that
00:05over 400,000 Filipinos have been removed from the list of underemployed individuals.
00:11This reduced underemployment rate to 10.8% in November, equivalent to 5.35 million Filipinos.
00:18The figure is lower compared to the 5.79 million recorded in November 2023.
00:25Also the number of unemployed Filipinos in the country decreased by more than 170,000,
00:30or 3.2%.
00:32Meanwhile employment rate rises to 96.8%, equivalent to 49.54 million employed Filipinos.
00:40The top major industries that have seen the largest increase in employment are manufacturing,
00:45accommodation and food service activities, human health and social work, transportation
00:50and storage, and other service activities.
00:54Transportation and storage is high here.
00:56We have a decrease in the number of underemployed, around 144,000.
01:02And the biggest contributor is passenger land transport.
01:07So that is also one of their contributors to the increase in the number of employed persons.
01:12So of course this is related to activities during the holidays.
