00:38Tapping into key features and ergonomic designs, Cort seems intent on overshadowing its competitors

00:44with its own models that are more than just a sum of their parts.

00:48Once you pick up this Cort G290FAT2, you'll know right away this is a serious and worthy

00:56What's cool is the offset body feels snug, pressed against you, with a generous belly

01:01carve and soft forearm contour that provides hours of playing comfort.

01:06But it's impossible not to notice the top-notch componentry and woods on this guitar.

01:11Everything about the Cort G290FAT2 appears elevated.

01:24This guitar features an older body with a gorgeous flame maple top, in trans-black burst,

01:31There's also antique violin burst and bright blue burst, and it also has a one-ply white

01:36bonding.

01:37It also comes with a roasted maple neck and fretboard.

01:41Though it sounds like a misnomer, the Ergo V neck profile is not a V-shaped neck, but

01:47rather a palm-filling profile that's closer to a fuller 60C shape with a soft satin finish

01:53on the back of the neck.

01:54The neck also sports glow-in-the-dark Lumen-Lay side dots and easy-to-burn-on 12 to 15 ¾ inch

02:02compound radius fretboard with 22 immaculately dressed frets.

02:09There's also a Graf-Tek Black Tusk nut, Cort Staggered locking tuners, and an accessible

02:14Spokenut Hot Rod truss rod wheel.

02:17The G290FAT2's articulate and detailed tones come courtesy of the Voice Tone VTH-77 direct

02:23mount pickups in brushed nickel that are merged with a custom pickup wiring to the 5-way switch

02:29that offers single-coil sparkle in the 2nd and 4th positions and full-body humbucker

02:34roar in the other positions.

02:37And rounding out the guitar is Cort's smooth-traveling and floating stainless steel CFA-3 tremolo

02:52I'll move over to crunchier channels and lead channels as well, but what I love about the

02:55guitar is that it cleans up and it retains its clarity even when I roll down the volume,

03:02and you'll hear it between the notch positions and even the full humbucker positions.
