'Doc' Star Scott Wolf Says He Gives Off Doctor Vibes, Keeps Getting Cast As MD

Scott Wolf is back in the white coat, playing a doctor on a new hospital drama ... but he's not upset about being constantly cast as a physician ... far from it!!!

00:04Yeah.

00:05So, you know, I had to laugh.

00:06I was reading the interview, like some of the excerpts of you on Kelly and Mark, and

00:10you were saying that you played a doctor so many times.

00:12First of all, why do you think that you played a doctor?

00:15So like, why is that like your kind of go-to role?

00:17I don't know.

00:18I feel like I give off doctor vibes, I think.

00:22And my parents are proud.

00:23They get a professional, you know, not a schmacter, but a doctor.

00:27This is by far the best doctor's show on Fox.

00:30It's just like, it's so good and it's internal medicine, so it's like the show House that

00:36was on.

00:37Right, right, right.

00:38You know, solving medical mysteries.

00:39So let's dig into this a little bit deeper.

00:40Are you one of those people that Googles symptoms and like kind of studies up?

00:45So like, can we say that you kind of studied being a doctor or like, what's your research

00:50when you take on a new doctor role?

00:51I definitely do a ton of research because myself and everybody involved in the show,

00:58we want doctors to be able to tune in and be like, that's what it looks like, you know?

01:01We don't want them to be like, this doesn't look anything like what we do.

01:05It's a hospital show through and through, like all the great hospital shows we've seen.

01:08So it's people coming in to this team of experts and needing their lives saved.

01:12So that's like day to day.

01:14So there's all these interesting cases.

01:15But the lead character gets in this nasty car accident, bangs her head, loses eight

01:20years of her life.

01:21No way.

01:22So she comes back and she needs to, she wants to get back to work.

01:25She wants to get back to her life, but almost a decade is gone.

01:29And so everyone in this world now, all of her colleagues, all the people that were in

01:32relationship to her, they're all dealing with kind of a reset of life.

01:37My character's like maybe a teeny bit shady.

01:41He's got a secret.

01:42I'll say that.

01:43And so amongst everybody, you know, most people are rooting for her to like get herself back.

01:48Yeah.

01:50But there's some people who think, you know what, if she stays without that last eight

01:53years, that's kind of fine by me.

01:55So there's beautifully complicated relationships.

01:58And I think everybody's going to be able to see somebody in there they relate to or connect

02:02to.

02:03And that makes for really fun, a fun experience.

02:05I love that.
