00:32During his testimony, Najib said he had provided glaring procedural deficiencies
00:38that aligned with Anwar's remarks about prosecutions against high-profile figures.
00:44The statement in question was made by Anwar on December 21,
00:48in which he described several high-profile prosecutions in 2018 as
00:53tainted by venom and enmity.
00:55Najib said key figures such as former CEO Datuk Sharul Azral Ibrahim Halmy
01:00and former General Counsel Jasmine Liu, among others, were not charged but were made witnesses instead.
01:06On October 30, Najib was ordered by the High Court to enter his defense
01:11on four counts of using his position to obtain 2.28 billion ringgit gratification from 1MDB's funds
01:19and 21 counts of money laundering involving the same amount.
01:24The hearing continues before Justice Colin Lawrence Sequeira on Wednesday.
