TCL unveils new QLED TVs with most vibrant color crystals, plus 5G smartphone

Technology company TCL promised ''a TV for most people" at CES in Las Vegas on Monday, January 6, boasting that its new QM6K Mini-LED TV carried a price point that consumers will be able to afford.

The new TV — "the first model in TCL’s all-new “Precise Dimming Series” featuring TCL’s enhanced QD-Mini LED system," according to the company — made its debut at the company's press conference, a day before the conference is set to open to the public.

TCL's smallest and most affordable option starts with the 50” screen size at $749.99.

The company also introduced its new 60 XE NXTPAPER 5G smartphone, which can convert to an e-reader with the switch of a button on its side, the company said.

00:00I think QD Mini-LED from the Pangu Lab is the premium champagne of Mini-LED.
00:09Now, that being said, for 2025, we are going to make next generation QD Mini-LED.
00:17We're going to take it to another level.
00:20While maintaining the original color temperature, reflection is another challenge.
00:26We have, for this year, completely reformulated our quantum dot crystals.
00:31They are not only more vibrant, but they're also more accurate.
00:36So, of course, we can do a billion colors.
00:38But now we can do a billion colors with up to 98% plus of DCI-P3 color gamut.
00:44We are going to give the consumer that great color for basically the life of the television.
00:51So, what I want to introduce...
00:54You look at all this technology, which I told you about, and all these features, which I told you about.
01:00But what I didn't tell you is that the QM6K is going to come at retail price points that people can actually afford.
01:08So, what does that make it?
01:10That's going to make it the new definition of affordable premium.
01:14Not the new definition of affordable or the new definition of premium.
01:18The new definition of affordable premium.
01:21This is the TV for most people.
01:24Right now.
01:38The TCL 60XE NexPaper 5G also has a NexPaper screen and, yes, the key.
01:46With a quick switch of the key, the screen changes to an e-reader format,
01:50which looks and feels like paper and is easy on the eyes.
01:54The TCL 60XE NexPaper 5G boasts anti-glare, low blue light, and view.
02:00Our new phone has a powerful camera that includes a 50-megapixel main camera for studio-level photography
02:07and a 32-megapixel front-facing camera for brilliant selfies.
02:11The TCL 60XE NexPaper 5G will be available this fall.
02:16While we're not unveiling specifics this week, these phones will be rolling out globally in a few months at MWC.
02:41.
