00:00TCL just dropped an $8,000 TV, so obviously I had to find out if it's actually worth it.
00:07So this is TCL's new X11L, and it's kind of a big deal because TCL is officially trying to
00:13play in the ultra-premium TV space now. We're talking up to 98 inches, insane brightness,
00:19thousands of dimming zones, and performance that honestly goes head-to-head with all the best mini
00:24LED TVs I've tested out there. Brightness is wild. HDR highlights really pop, sports look amazing in
00:31bright rooms, and even when the whole screen lights up, colors don't wash out. That's something that
00:36cheaper TVs definitely still struggle with. Blooming, which is usually mini-LED's weak point, almost
00:41non-existent here. Blacks look clean, contrast is strong, and movies look so good at night.
00:46Color performance is also very impressive. TCL claims crazy high color coverage, and while it
00:52doesn't quite hit the marketing numbers, it's still better than most of the TVs on the market out
00:57there. But it's not perfect. Motion handling is just okay, and the stand takes up a lot of space.
01:03Most importantly, this thing costs $8,000 to $10,000, depending on the size. And TCL happens to be
01:10bringing the same display tech to cheaper models later this year, which makes weighting a very reasonable
01:14move. So if you want one of the best, brightest, giant TVs out there you can buy right now, and
01:21your
01:21budget really isn't a concern, I'd say this is a good buy. But if you're chasing value, or you don't
01:26mind waiting a bit, skip for now and see what trickles down.
