00:07a row according to analysis. Transport analytics company Inrix said drivers in the capital
00:13spent 101 hours sitting in traffic in 2024, a 2% increase from the previous year. Paris
00:22had the second most clogged up roads, with 97 hours of delays per driver, followed by
00:28Dublin who averaged at 81 hours. Worldwide, London was ranked the 5th most congested city
00:35in the world, with Istanbul taking 1st place. The ranking is based on the length of delays
00:43weighted by the size of each city's population. Within the UK, Bristol was the 2nd worst city
00:49for traffic, with 65 hours of delays per driver, ahead of Leeds in 3rd spot with 60 hours and
00:56Manchester in 4th position after a 13% year-on-year rise in delays. The author of the report,
01:03Bob Pichu, said although there was a slight increase in congestion, it has overall remained
01:09steady. London's delays were attributed to the concentration of population, employment
01:15and economic activity. A spokesman for Transport for London has said that we are committed
01:21to making sure Londoners can move around the capital as safely, sustainably and as
01:25efficiently as possible. We support the movement of everyone across London and our investment
01:33of walking, cycling and public transport is making it easier to choose sustainable ways
