00:00Near Taif, about 60km from Mecca, lies a crater with a near perfect circular shape.

00:16The Al Waba crater spans 3,000m in diameter and has a depth of 280m.

00:24It was formed millennia ago during volcanic activity.

00:28This unique geological shape is what draws geologists to our region.

00:41There are thousands of craters in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

00:45Normally, craters are found at the summit of a volcano on the surface.

00:50But this is one unusually located in the crater's basin, which of course attracts curious visitors.

01:10Its beauty lies in the effervescence caused by the evaporation of rainwater.

01:16As the water evaporates, it leaves behind a layer of calcified salt

01:20leading to a coarse crystallization process.

01:26At the base, the rocks here are basalt and granite,

01:29formed from lava flows during the volcano's activity.

01:34Personally, I'm drawn to the natural geological mix that can be admired here.

01:40I visit this crater out of love for the place, far from the noise of the city.

01:45It's my sanctuary, and I find peace here.
