00:00And in Guatemala, authorities reported almost 12 million migratory movements in 2024, an

00:05increase of 11.5 percent over 2023.

00:09Statistics show that overland migratory movements had the highest activity, with 3.6 million

00:14departures and 4 million entries.

00:17The country of seaports reported 7,726 departures and 7,855 entries.

00:23Likewise, border checkpoints such as the international airport La Aurora reported more than 4.2 million

00:29migratory movements, and the border of Valle Nuevo in the department of Utiapa near El

00:34Salvador reported 2.1 million.

00:38Authorities assured that most of the migratory movements were made by tourists, while highlighting

00:41the work to reduce the occurrence of irregular entries into the country.

00:51In Ecuador, relatives of the four murdered children request another DNA analysis abroad

00:55to confirm the identity of the victims.

00:58The victims' parents distrust the Ecuadorian judicial system as well as the veracity of

01:02the forensic evidence on which the ruling was based.

01:05They consider that the conditions in which the corpses were found weaken the reliability

01:09of these results.

01:11That is why the children's relatives would present an international lawsuit against Novoa's

01:15government.

01:20An imperial government has extended the state of emergency in four provinces of La Libertad

01:25and Tumbes region.

01:27The announcement was made by Minister's Council's President Gustavo Adrian Senn at the Communist

01:32First Session in 2025.

01:34Adrian Senn said that during the state of emergency, the police will be in charge of

01:38maintaining domestic order with the support of the army.

01:41The extension of the state of emergency aims at reducing criminal activity, unweakening

01:45criminal organizations operating in the country, and in response to an increase in crime reports

01:49in these areas of homicide, robberies, extortion, and human and drug trafficking.

01:58In Argentina, at least 79% of the General Port Administration workers will be laid off

02:04following the dissolution of the Port Administration imposed by Javier Millet's administration.

02:10The Argentine Presidency announced that the General Ports Administration will become the

02:14new National Ports and Navigation Agency, which will combine the functions of these

02:18minority-solved organizations.

02:21Likewise, the Millet government announced the sale of state assets and real estate.

02:27The government also assured that the measure responds to a plan to achieve lower costs

02:31in ports.

02:32These announcements come after the government announced a new extension of the 2023 budget

02:38despite criticism from Argentine society, which demands an updated budget that meets

02:43the reality of the country's need.

02:46In Argentina, a state-owned airline made cuts in the workforce, domestic routes, and removed

02:54in-flight snack services in view of the company's possible privatization.

02:58The agency detailed that the measures are part of an attempt to reduce the airline's

03:02burden on the state and to attract private investment.

03:06However, the Workers' Union does not agree with these measures.

03:09The union opposes the measure after 13% of its workforce was cut, salaries were frozen,

03:17and some of the benefits were cancelled.

03:19These actions are in response to Javier Millet's promises to privatize or close the airline

03:24if it does not become more competitive.
