00:06He was removed as a member of the Council by the Vice President
00:09and the former presidents of the country.
00:12Under Executive Order No. 81,
00:14the National Security Institution must be established
00:18and it must be able to respond to the challenges of the changing times.
00:24In a statement,
00:25Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin said
00:28the current Vice President cannot be considered an important member of the NSC.
00:34However, if necessary, the President of the country
00:38must have the power to add a member or to appoint advisors.
00:42Under the new law,
00:44the President remains the Chairperson of the NSC.
00:48The Senate President,
00:50House Speaker,
00:51Senate President Pro Tempore,
00:53and other members of the Executive and Legislative Branch are also included in the Council.
00:57There will also be changes to the composition of the NSC Executive Committee.
