00:00We no longer have to endure the hardships of this new year.
00:10Because of the Give-a-Gift Surgical Outreach Program,
00:15the World Surgical Foundation is now able to operate patients
00:20who have Bupo, Luz-Luz, Bato Saabdo, and Goiter
00:24in the province of Negros Occidental
00:27with the help of our volunteer doctors and partners.
00:34In the midst of the eruption of Volcano Canlaon on December 9,
00:40Marites went to Valladolid District Hospital in Negros Occidental
00:46to have Bato Saabdo, or Gallstone, operated
00:51for free with the help of the GMA Kapuso Foundation and the World Surgical Foundation.
00:58I was forced to come here because I needed to be okay.
01:04I couldn't bear the pain anymore.
01:09Maria was very nervous and happy
01:13because she would finally be able to experience the 3-year-old baby with Luz-Luz.
01:19We were worried that we might have an infection.
01:24I was happy because her feelings were relieved.
01:30They were among the more than 100 patients with Luz-Luz, Boso, Bato Saabdo, and Bukol
01:38in Negros Occidental and Cebu
01:40who were given the opportunity to operate the patients under the Give-a-Gift Surgical Outreach Program
01:48of the GMA Kapuso Foundation with the help of the World Surgical Foundation
01:53and Valladolid District Hospital.
01:56Most of the patients with Luz-Luz
01:58are not able to operate and have to wait for a long time.
02:02Our partnership with GMA Kapuso and other partners is very helpful
02:07because we are able to operate for free.
02:09The objective of this project is to help the less fortunate people
02:16of the province of Negros Occidental.
02:18For those patients who are willing, who have these cases,
02:23don't be afraid because all of these surgeons and nurses are well-trained.
02:30We are very thankful to all the volunteer doctors and partners
02:35because of you, they joined in the new year full of hope
02:41and there is no longer any disease.
