00:00What do you make of this debate on skilled legal migration that is seemingly splitting Trump's base?

00:07And why are they so upset with this policy?

00:10Well, there are two issues here. One of them is the immigration issue.

00:15There's a wing of the MAGA Republicans who don't want anyone coming into the country at all,

00:21or certainly not anyone they don't regard as a white Christian European.

00:27Donald Trump's assistant on these issues, who I've referred to as his minister of hate, Stephen Miller, has been very explicit about this.

00:38On the other side of this are the MAGA Republicans who want to get workers at lower wages who they can control.

00:47If you are in America on an H-1B visa, you are totally at the mercy of your employer.

00:54And if you're fired for any reason, you have about two months to find a job or you have to leave.
