Anderson (l'employé du magasin de BD), Ron Rifkin (le grand-père).  Synopsis : Robert Bleichner, 17 ans, rêve de devenir dessinateur de BD. Après la mort accidentelle de son prof d'arts plastiques et mentor, Robert décide de quitter le lycée pour tenter sa chance dans le New Jersey. Ses parents ne sont pas très enthousiastes. Mais Robert n'en fait qu'à sa tête et se retrouve impliqué dans des histoires qui l'entraînent au tribunal. C'est alors qu'il rencontre par hasard Wallace, un dessinateur de chez Image Comics, son éditeur de comics préféré. Robert décide de tout faire pour séduire Wallace afin qu'il lui enseigne ce qu'il sait. Mais Wallace est un personnage nerveusement instable. .
