Synopsis : Darby O'Gill est garde-chasse. C'est un excellent conteur qui a une prédilection pour les histoires de lutins. Il doit malheureusement prendre sa retraite et craint que sa fille Katie ne pâtisse de la baisse de son niveau de vie. Il demande donc à son remplaçant, Michael McBride, de ne dévoiler à personne son départ à la retraite. McBride devra se faire passer pour son assistant....
