00:00In the last episode, we saw 2 stroke and 4 stroke and how the engine works
00:06In this video, we are going to talk about the dry spark tech class
00:15Once again, I am Pallavi and welcome to Dry Spark Tamil Tech Series
00:19In this video, we are going to see how an engine runs and how to control the power
00:27We are going to talk about the gearbox, air filter and fuel management system
00:34First, let's talk about the fuel management system
00:37There are 2 types of fuel management systems
00:41Currently, there is only one fuel injection system in the modern age
00:46Before this, there were carburetor additions
00:49A carburetor is similar to a throttle body
00:57But the fuel comes through the shutter valve
01:01In a fuel injector, there is a separate throttle body and an injector
01:05The injector comes through the shutter valve
01:09The valve is like a gate and the injector controls the fuel
01:13There are 2 types of valves
01:15One is like a shutter valve and the other is like a butterfly valve
01:20Let me tell you the concept of this valve
01:22How can you expect a shutter valve?
01:25In our village, there is a shutter valve to open and close the river
01:36People say that the water will flow forcefully if the valve is opened
01:40This is the shutter valve
01:42The water will flow forcefully when it's opened
01:45When the valve is closed, the water will stop
01:47When the valve is opened, the water will flow
01:50This is the butterfly valve
01:53The butterfly valve will flow forcefully
01:59The water will flow forcefully
02:02This is the butterfly valve
02:06So basically, this carburetor has these two types of valves
02:12In modern times, most of the cars have butterfly valves
02:16because of fuel injection
02:18So this throttle body
02:20That is, the whole body
02:23In the carburetor
02:24Fuel comes from the tank to here
02:27When it comes here, this valve adjusts
02:29So how does this valve adjust?
02:31If you give an accelerator, a cable is connected here mechanically
02:36In modern times, let it be KTM 3 in India
02:40Or even Gorilla 450 in Royal Enfield
02:42Ride by wire
02:43So through a sensor, there will be a small motor in it
02:47So here
02:49This motor will engage in the mechanic through the electric
02:53So it will be very fast
02:55With the effort of humans, it will be very fast
02:58That is why they have given that setup
03:01So now, this valve
03:03This is how
03:04So this cable comes here and as you give it
03:08That valve opens
03:09So if you shut it, it will open
03:11Otherwise, the butterfly valve will be like this
03:13Otherwise it will be like this, it will be completely blocked
03:15It will open like this
03:17So as this fuel goes in
03:20When its burning increases, the power of that engine also produces
03:24That is, in the power band
03:25How much that fuel
03:26Explodes
03:28Builds that pressure
03:30So all of that is based on this air and fuel
03:33So in that place, this carburetor or throttle body
03:37I said that the throttle body is a working process
03:40So I will tell you how this carburetor works
03:43So again, the fuel comes from the tank here
03:46There will be a carburetor air here
03:48There will be a section inside the engine
03:50Through that section, this valve goes inside
03:53There is a float, a needle in the carburetor
03:57It will be like this
03:58So if you look at this needle
04:00It will come in small drops
04:02It will come in very minute drops
04:04To put it in a way
04:06When injecting
04:08You would have seen, the nurse comes and takes the injection
04:11Second, they will tap it like this
04:13Second, they will tap it in the syringe
04:18When you press it
04:19The liquid that comes out will come in a spray form
04:23You would have seen
04:24When it comes under pressure, the same concept is here
04:27It will come like a spray in that needle
04:29When the air goes inside, it will go in a gas form
04:31It will go inside the engine chamber
04:33That is, it will go inside the cylinder
04:34In that, the explosion will happen
04:36This is the carburetor
04:38Second, when you hold the injector
04:40There will be an injector in this
04:42It will be like a mechanical shutter valve
04:44So, fuel pump
04:47That is, you have a pump in the tank
04:49Through that pump, pressure will come here
04:52This injector will be like this
04:55Even in that, the electric connector will close the shutter
04:58It will close for many nanoseconds
05:00When it sprays
05:02The shutter will be based on this
05:04So, it will spray a lot
05:06When it comes from this
05:08It will spray more than a carburetor
05:13So, it will come in a gas form
05:15After that, it will mix with the air
05:17It will have a good fueling
05:19Now, when you do it through FI engines
05:23The performance is good
05:25Plus, you have fuel efficiency
05:27When you compare it with a carburetor
05:29It has more fuel efficiency
05:31Another thing that happens in a carburetor
05:33There will be an overflow issue
05:35So, you have switched off the engine
05:37But still, when the fuel comes
05:39The needle will be like this
05:41So, it will come little by little
05:43It will get locked
05:45So, when you come to that place
05:47The engine will start immediately
05:49Because, until the fuel goes out
05:51The needle won't come
05:53So, we will put a choke
05:55When there is an overflow, the petrol will come down
05:57So, we will put a valve and switch it off
05:59In the modern age
06:01The fuel is for people to easily access
06:03So, there is no concept of overflow
06:05No matter how much pressure you put
06:07No matter how much throttle you give
06:09There is no pressure for overflow
06:11The fuel will go in efficiently
06:13It will go in with that much pressure
06:15So, it will produce the power
06:17That goes into the compression
06:19So, this is the basic setup
06:21for a carburetor
06:23Another important access point
06:25is the air filter
06:27So, in the air filter
06:29The maximum we get in OEMs
06:31are paper air filters
06:33If you go to performance
06:35You have
06:37many types of air filters
06:39So, this air filter
06:41Basically
06:43The concept is
06:45There is an air section
06:47There is a throttle body
06:49There is an air box
06:51The air that is outside will be inside
06:53So, basically what this air filter does
06:55For example
06:57Let's say we are breathing
06:59If there is a lot of
07:01smoke or dust
07:03Will we breathe?
07:05Will we be able to breathe freely?
07:07No, we won't be able to breathe
07:09It's the same for a car
07:11If you don't send enough air
07:13The car will misfire
07:15Just like how we breathe
07:17The car will breathe
07:19That is called misfire
07:21The air won't go in properly
07:23The fuel mixture won't be correct
07:25The car won't start
07:27This is the proper performance
07:29So, in that area, a proper air filter
07:31will filter all the dust
07:33and send a lot of air
07:35So, in this area
07:37The air-fuel mixture
07:39will work very well
07:41So, this is the concept of an air filter
07:43This is a basic step
07:45In the next part, it will get
07:47even more interesting
07:49If you find this concept
07:51interesting
