King Charles’ New Years Honours List 2025 recognises unsung heroes who have made outstanding contributions to their communities across the UK. But who are the people who have been honoured this year?

00:10honoured? Well, of the 1,200 people who were recognised, Sir Gareth Southgate has been

00:15knighted for services to football after leading England to the finals of the Euros in 2020

00:21and 2024. Actor Sir Stephen Fry has received a knighthood for his services to mental health

00:27awareness, the environment and charity. Sir Sadiq Khan has been knighted for political

00:32and public service as London Mayor. Olympians were also honoured in the list, including

00:37Keeley Hodgkinson. Author of the Tracy Beaker series, Jacqueline Wilson has been made a

00:42dame for her services to literature. Furthermore, four former sub-postmasters have been honoured

00:48for their work for services to justice after having taken the post office to court following

00:52the Horizon IT scandal. Though, interestingly, the campaigners have said they would rather

00:58have had full compensation than recognition in the New Year's Honours list.
