00:00Tonight, in Sydney, nine tons of fireworks are going to be set off.
00:07They'll be firing from 16 locations linked by 80 kilometers of cable.
00:13And it's expected to be the biggest display yet, with 30,000 individual fireworks firing
00:19from the harbour bridge behind me.
00:21And for the first time ever, they'll be firing from the western side of the famous landmark
00:25too.
00:26That wasn't enough.
00:27Drones are going to be lighting up in formations over the water.
00:31But before this gets underway, there'll be another display at 9pm.
00:36These family-friendly fireworks are a celebration of land, sea and sky created by an indigenous
00:41group and will take over 20 minutes.
00:44Three hours later, the New Year will be brought in with a 12-minute display lighting up the
00:49sky from the Opera House, skyscrapers and the bridge.
00:54Many of the people around me have been waiting along the foreshore since the early hours
00:58of the morning for this, and some even since yesterday afternoon.
01:03They've been managing to keep themselves entertained until now, but now there's only just hours
01:08until the big show gets underway.
