00:00He found 30 million pesos worth of high-grade marijuana inside two Balikbayan boxes that no one has been getting for a long time.

00:08Vel Ustodio reported.

00:13The two Balikbayan boxes were confiscated after the high-grade marijuana or kush was found to be worth 30 million pesos.

00:21According to the PNP Drug Enforcement Group,

00:23they were informed by a cargo service company that the two high-grade Balikbayan boxes had been missing for two months.

00:32Based on the address and origin of the boxes, it came from Ontario, Canada.

00:40It was from a certain individual.

00:44And that's what was written on his forwarding ticket.

00:49While the boxes were addressed to the individual living in Bulacan,

00:52the K9 unit used the PNP DEG to detect smells of contraband in the boxes.

00:57When opened, the kush packages were hidden in clothes, canned goods, and rice.

01:02The illegal drug trafficking in the country is being investigated by a large syndicate.

01:08If we go back to this October,

01:10the kush worth 28 million pesos and 18.5 million pesos were found in two separate operations in Bulacan,

01:18which were also imported from Canada.

01:21There's a high possibility that the kush was from Ontario, Canada.

01:24These were also caught in October.

01:27So again, we are asking for our investigation to continue

01:33and to prove that it was really just one person or one company that was involved.

01:41Again, we are coordinating via our international counterparts

01:46to investigate these sources, the ones that were caught and the ones that were resold.

01:51Suspects have been charged in comprehensive dangerous drugs act of 2002.
