00:00The Banco Central ng Pilipinas, or BSP, reported an improvement in the country's overall financial

00:05position with the rest of the world during the second quarter of 2024.

00:10The country's net external liability position improved from April to June 2024, declining

00:16by 3.6 percent to 2.9 trillion pesos from 3 trillion pesos in the first quarter.

00:22The central bank attributed this improvement mainly to the BSP's stronger net external

00:26asset position, although it was partially offset by an increase in the general government's

00:31net external liability.
