00:06while authorities are trying to ensure the safety of everyone.

00:21That's how the families are celebrating Christmas here in Lawag City, Ilocos Norte

00:26even though the weather is cold.

00:29We want to do banding as a family and this can help our children to rest

00:38because we are from Manila.

00:43Yes, that's our plan so that we can celebrate the new year in a fresher way.

00:51Until later, when the sun shines, we will go home.

00:57Here in Barangay Calayab, 300 to 500 people are expected to visit this Christmas.

01:03That's why the authorities will do their best to ensure the safety of the tourists and visitors.

01:10Last night, a lot of people came here.

01:15Even though a lot of people came here, some of them fell down.

01:21To avoid accidents, the Police Regional Office 1

01:26advised not to swim in the sea if the waves are high, especially if you are drinking alcohol.

01:32They are expecting more tourists to come here in January 1

01:38to celebrate the new year.

01:41To our beachgoers in Barangay Calayab or any beach in Ilocos Norte,

01:47if they know that they are drinking alcohol, don't swim.

01:52And if they know that the waves are high, don't swim so that we can avoid droning incidents.

01:57We have patrols and we are telling the beachgoers

02:02that if they go overnight, don't drink so that we can avoid possible incidents.
