Amtrak temporarily suspended all train service between New York and Philadelphia on Sunday morning due to downed overhead power wires blocking the tracks. The delays occurred just before one of the busiest travel periods of the year. After over six hours, Amtrak had restored two of four tracks, but delays of at least an hour persisted. Three trains were canceled, and the disruption affected some NJ Transit services. The Northeast Corridor is Amtrak's busiest route, connecting major East Coast cities from Boston to Washington, D.C.
