00:00Two services connecting London Euston to Stirling in Scotland planned for Monday, one in each direction, were cancelled.
00:07The line, operated by Lumo, only launched one week ago, but because of a fault with the operator's only train
00:14on the route, it was suspended on Monday.
00:17Depending on their route, passengers were told to travel by taxi or coach, or to use another train operator.
00:24Passengers were also advised to check Lumo's website or social media channels for the latest information, and on Monday, the
00:32operator said that services were expected to resume on Tuesday.
00:36A spokesperson for Lumo said since launch, the vast majority of their services have operated as planned.
00:43However, a few services have been cancelled, with alternative travel offered to customers.
00:48Lumo's lack of rolling stock on the West Coast mainline means its timetable has initially been restricted to one daily
00:58return service.
00:59As it receives more trains, this is expected to be gradually increased to four by late July, with an additional
01:08daily return service between Euston and Preston.
01:11The faulty train is a refurbished Class 222 Meridian train, previously used by East Midlands Railway.
01:19When the West Coast route launched, Lumo said it was designed to offer low-cost fares and attract more people
01:28to train over air.
