Lizzo is breaking her silence about the harassment lawsuit filed by three of her former backup dancers -- saying she was completely blindsided by the accusations.

00:00Lizzo is still battling legally with her former dancers three former dancers who had

00:07filed a lawsuit against her last year for sexual harassment

00:13Over things they said happened while they were touring in Europe

00:16In and driving them to hard-working. Yes various things driving to our working going to

00:22topless clubs and being as they said sort of coerced into doing things

00:29That they didn't want to do so that suit is going on now Lizzo has through her lawyers has released statements

00:35But she's never spoken on camera about this

00:38and she went on Kiki Palmer's podcast and opened up about what it was like when she first heard about it and

00:45Why she is absolutely shocked that they are bringing these allegations against her

00:50I was literally living in my dream

00:52And then the tour ended and three ex-dancers just completely like blindsided me. I was

01:00Very deeply hurt because you know, these were three ex-dancers. So they weren't on the tour

01:06They didn't like finish the tour out with us

01:09but even regardless of that these were people that I gave opportunities to these were people that I I

01:16Liked them and appreciated them as dancers respected them as dancers. So I was like what?

01:22But then I heard all the other things like sexual harassment and I was like, they're trying

01:29Well, I don't know what they're trying to do

01:31But these are the types of things that the media can turn into something that it's not, you know

01:36What she said at the time or what her people said at the time was that these were people I believe they that they were

01:42They were terminated. Yes in the middle of the tour and what they said it would they had an axe to grind. Yeah

01:48But you know, she's she's got an interesting take on it saying, you know, I respected them as dancers and all that stuff

01:56the media comment is interesting and it really is

02:00Something you got to think about that. Somebody files a lawsuit

02:04That becomes a public document and you do you know, the media covers that we cover public documents

02:11There are consequences of that we see it right now with jay-z, right and there are people there there are people in the public

02:19Aren't waiting they just as much as we say these are just allegations

02:23You have to hear the other side and if it gets dismissed it doesn't get the play it does when it gets filed

02:28Right, it's just a reality by the way, one of the lawsuits brought against her

02:32She has been removed from it a judge ruled that she was not

02:36Didn't have shouldn't be a defendant in that matter and her name has been taken off one of them

02:41But the main one from the three dancers is still going on at the end of the day

02:45You know Lizzo kind of did what she what was best in this situation in my opinion

02:49She kind of laid low she kind of got in her bag. She went on this weight loss journey. She lost 60 pounds

02:55She kind of tuned out the best she could the negative that was being said about her

02:59Granted we haven't seen a lot of Lizzo in the spotlight

03:02We haven't had a lot of new music but with her going on this podcast speaking about it publicly kind of getting her side out

03:10Elevated way. I think she might we might start seeing Lizzo back out and about again on social media posting all the time
