A walk around Winterland Wolverhampton

Express & Star senior reporter James Vukmirovic took a trip down to Winterland Wolverhampton to experience the event, from the rides to the different food and drink options on offer.

00:00Hello, I'm James McMirovich. Behind me, here in the centre of Wolverhampton, is Winterland Wolverhampton.

00:06It's a festive treat for the people of the city during this Christmas period.

00:11Leading up until the 5th of January, in there are a range of rides, attractions, Santa Claus, places to get your birthday taken,

00:19a real ice rink, and lots of places to go and eat and drink.

00:23I've come here to have a look today to see what it's all about, so let's go and have a step in.

08:19Right, at the end of all that, that was Winterland Wolverhampton.

08:23I've had the chance to spend a couple of hours there, walking around,

08:26being given a warm welcome by the organisers, I've ridden a few rides,

08:29I've had a beer, and I've had one of the bratwurst,

08:32and all in all that probably would have cost me about £30 for the two hours I was there,

08:36so it was pretty good value, I think pretty good value for what it is.

08:39You can walk around there, and you don't necessarily have to spend any money.

08:43You can take in the sights, the sounds, you can have your photo taken with Santa,

08:47or with any of the stars and other items that are in there.

08:50You can warm your hands on the marshmallow section.

08:53You can watch the ice skaters, you can basically just watch and have a look at it.

08:56It's a great little thing to have here in the centre of Wolverhampton,

08:59and the company have said that if they do have a successful year,

09:03they may come back and do it again in other years.

09:06They've been very happy about the idea of touting this to Wolverhampton,

09:10trying it in Wolverhampton to see if it works.

09:12I think it's a very good way to spend an evening, come down here and see what you think.
