00:00The New Day are banned from the WWE locker room, mass wrestler departures over at TNA,
00:06and what free agent who just left AEW that's associated with the number 0 could WWE possibly
00:12be teasing with a new graphic?
00:17It's Penta.
00:21It's most definitely Penta.
00:23I'm Oli Davis, and this is the WrestleTalk News.
00:29TNA ran its last pay-per-view of the year last Friday the 13th called Final Resolution,
00:38but it turns out resolutions weren't the only things that were final.
00:42It also saw a number of talent finish up with the promotion.
00:46Firstly was ECW original Rhyno, who posted on his Facebook page,
00:50Tomorrow is my last day with TNA Wrestling.
00:52I am wrestling Ryan Nemeth.
00:54It will most likely be the last time EVER I will wrestle in a TNA ring.
00:58If you can make it to center stage in Atlanta, come and be a part of this 5 year chapter
01:03of my life and our journey.
01:05Thank you to all of the amazing wrestling fans for your support.
01:08I'm not dumb wrestling, but TNA and I have parted ways.
01:13Rhyno returned to TNA for his second run back in 2019, and was inducted into their Hall
01:17of Fame back in October.
01:19Rhyno did make a cameo on the ECW themed episode of NXT last month where he gored Robert Stone,
01:25so perhaps he could be on his way to work for WWE.
01:28PWInsider then reported that the promotion's ring announcer Jade Chung will also be leaving
01:33after not signing a new deal.
01:35Her current contract is set to expire at the end of this year, and she apparently turned
01:39down a new offer.
01:41This has increased speculation around her real-life husband, the former TNA World Champion
01:45Josh Alexander, whose contract is set to expire in February.
01:49With Chung leaving now, it could foreshadow Alexander also departing early next year.
01:54There's speculation he could join his former North tag team partner Ethan Page in WWE.
02:00PWInsider then added that former NXT star Trent Seven has also exited TNA, along with
02:05other former NXT star Kushida.
02:08Kushida's deal with TNA was an interesting one, as he was signed to a dual contract with
02:12both them and New Japan last December.
02:15The idea was for the smaller promotions to band together to compete with the bigger money
02:20contracts WWE or AEW could offer.
02:23But Kushida's was the only contract that was ever agreed with that idea, as TNA's
02:27head booker Scott D'Amore leaving back in January scuppered any more of those plans.
02:32F4WOnline have reported some of the departures have to do with people asked to take pay cuts,
02:38but that may not be the case for all of them.
02:40But it's not just individual wrestlers that are leaving TNA, it's whole promotions.
02:44As F4WOnline add, it appears formal relations with TNA and New Japan may also be done.
02:51Promotions were said to have cooled when D'Amore was gone, but since both are on
02:54the same channel, one owned by TNA's parent company, there are political reasons for a
02:59relationship for both sides.
03:01Mike Bailey and the company's top female star Jordan Grace are also expected to leave
03:06when their contracts expire soon.
03:08So TNA made the very TNA decision to controversially bring back Tessa Blanchard at their final
03:14resolution show.
03:15Who hasn't really been seen in North American wrestling since January 2020, just before
03:19the pandemic, when multiple people accused her of bullying and racism, accusations that
03:24she denies.
03:25Fightful has reported that while some in TNA have remained friends with her, others warned
03:30the company of bringing her back, and Jordan Grace specifically pushed back on working
03:34with her.
03:35The second episode of Moustache Night War, of me vs Luke in WWE 2K24's MyGM mode, is
03:41available to watch exclusively on Patreon right now.
03:45And it's getting rave reviews, like this comment from Patreon Gordon Fallon.
03:49Oli comes off as a great ineffective villain.
03:51You almost root for Oli.
03:53Because how comic bookish incompetent he is.
03:56Almost.
03:57Hm.
03:58Just gonna cancel your Patreon membership, Gordon?
04:01Yep, ok, that's done.
04:03Everyone else, you can watch it instead and enjoy me as a genuine threat.
04:07Here's a clip.
04:08Why can't I just…
04:09Ok, I'm going to clear this match.
04:11Remember who's in there.
04:12AJ's going to be in there.
04:13Don't look at me.
04:15Fatal 4-Way.
04:16Normal.
04:17Bobbitt.
04:19God dammit, I've got to clear both of them.
04:25Bobbitt.
04:26AJ.
04:28Um.
04:29Um.
04:30Um.
04:31This guy.
04:32Um.
04:33Ah.
04:34Who was the other?
04:35Ah.
04:36Who?
04:37Ok.
04:38Who?
04:39Kit.
04:40Kit.
04:41Kit.
04:42My brain's gone.
04:43My brain's absolutely gone.
04:44Can you not look at me, please?
04:45Dante.
04:46Is it Dante?
04:47Dante's in there.
04:48Tyler.
04:51And this one will be Gunther.
04:54Nope.
04:55What are you doing?
04:56Normal.
04:57Ricochet.
04:58And Elia.
04:59Huh?
05:10Are you done?
05:11Done.
05:12Oh.
05:13Hey, that was on the buzzer.
05:18That was on the buzzer right there.
05:21You alright?
05:22What happened?
05:23I think I'm ok.
05:24Now it's time for my review of Moustache Night Raw in about 5 minutes.
05:28The episode opened with CM Punk coming out for an in-ring promo to a big Boston, Canada
05:32reception.
05:33He said he's in a bad mood.
05:34So normal day of the week for CM Punk.
05:36Because whenever he starts to cut a promo, Seth's crappy music will hit, he'll walk
05:41out on his tiptoes and do his annoying laugh.
05:43That's my voice of the voiceless.
05:45Seth Rollins' presentation is incredibly lame.
05:48Rollins came out through the crowd, dressed almost normally though.
05:51And he cut a good promo too, dropping his gimmicky inflections, wisely grounding this
05:55feud more in realism.
05:57He said even from there, in the stands, he can see Punk's an asshole.
06:01Seth built this place on his back when Punk left, and he'll have more WrestleMania main
06:05events than Phil ever will.
06:09He said Punk's actual name, that's when you know it's real.
06:12They had an extended brawling segment that was kind of structured like the Family Guy
06:15Chicken Fight joke.
06:17Pretty good at first, then got a bit boring in the middle, but then really picked up by
06:20the end as they both sprinted at each other in the crowd for one final brawl.
06:24Seth was seen arguing with Adam Pearce backstage afterwards, when Drew McIntyre walked into
06:28shots like he's Scottish Nick Fury, recruiting for WWE's latest initiative, S.W.O.R.D.
06:35He said he doesn't like CM Punk or Roman Reigns either.
06:38They should work together.
06:39Seth said Jey Uso and Sami Zayn are still his friends, but the jury is still out on
06:44Drew, meaning he didn't totally turn McIntyre down.
06:47Pearce later announced it'll be Punk vs Seth for Raw's Netflix debut episode.
06:52And then it cut to a great shot backstage where Jackie is going to ask Rollins for his
06:55thoughts, but McIntyre is marching towards him from the background like he's the monster
07:00from It Follows.
07:01Sami jumped Drew before we could see what he wanted to do to Seth.
07:04Maybe he was just going to offer his help against Punk in the upcoming match.
07:08Then the Zayn vs McIntyre feud will continue for now.
07:10Braun Breaker defended his Intercontinental title against Ludwig Kaiser in a really decent
07:14long match, with Kaiser smartly working over Breaker's left armour.
07:18Braun damaged himself more with a flying lariat off the apron over the commentary table, but
07:22thanks to a top rope frankensteiner, a charge around the ring and a spear inside it, Breaker
07:27retained.
07:28And Braun has such a cool moveset.
07:42There was a recap of Kevin Owens taking out Cody Rhodes with the packaged Piledriver after
07:46Saturday night's main event went off air.
07:48Meaning we got to see the actual move and attack after WWE banned the previous Bad Blood
07:53angle, but we didn't get to see any of the Triple H involvement where he shoved KO.
07:57Cody's selling of that Piledriver was so good, with him being totally still and his
08:01fingers curling by his side from the nerve damage.
08:04The shots of him being stretched into an ambulance really got over the serious realism of this
08:08feud and how it doesn't feel like anything else in WWE.
08:12Which is why it was quite the tonal shift when WWE came back from that video package
08:16and Joe Tessitore announced social media shares of that footage have done more than 45 million
08:22views.
08:23Wow.
08:24Neck injuries.
08:25In far better subtle storytelling, the New Day went to the locker room backstage, when
08:29Rey Mysterio stopped them from entering, and told them it's best if they find somewhere
08:33else to change after what they did to Big E.
08:36WWE and the New New Day are doing such a good job of making their actions feel so much worse
08:41than anything else in the company.
08:43Kind of even worse than Kevin Owens trying to break Cody's neck, because look how many
08:48views that has on social media, by showing everyone's disapproval of them backstage.
08:53Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez and Dominic Mysterio got an in-ring promo segment where
08:57Liv was talking about how great her 2024 has been when she was interrupted by, you guessed
09:02it, Rhea Ripley.
09:03Ripley said this has gone on long enough, you're telling me.
09:06So it's time they made it official.
09:08Pearce has made her the women's title's No. 1 contender, and then she called Dom Liv's
09:12little chicken tender slut.
09:14Hopefully this ends soon.
09:15Miz tried to move on from the Final Testament backstage, pointing out how they've beaten
09:18the Wyatts now.
09:19Hooray.
09:20Job done.
09:21Miz said it's not over until he says it's over, as he's consumed by vengeance for
09:26what they did to Scarlett.
09:27So Miz will have a match against Dexter Lumis next week.
09:30Now that Paul Ellering is back with them, this faction has way too many managers.
09:34About 1 hour and 15 minutes into the show, we then got our second match.
09:39Zoe Stark beat Raquel Rodriguez and Kayden Carter in a Women's Intercontinental Championship
09:43quarterfinal match.
09:44Which makes sense, so she can fight Dakota Kai as part of the Damage Control vs Perfect
09:48Fried Chicken feud in the semis.
09:51Stark pinned Carter to protect Raquel.
09:53Stark celebrated by slamming Kairi Sane's hand in a production crate backstage afterwards,
09:57potentially meaning the tournament will need a replacement for one remaining quarterfinal.
10:01Triple H realised he might be drafting America Made to SmackDown.
10:04Quick, better finish that American Alpha feud they dropped back in August.
10:08Chad Gable confronted Otis backstage, saying they'll start with Akira Tozawa.
10:12Hopefully this is building to the Gable vs Otis match we should've had four months ago.
10:17A mysterious red circle graphic played, with a red line drawn through it.
10:21Which could be teasing the recently released AEW wrestler Penta and his catchphrase Zero
10:27Miedo, or Zero Fear.
10:30As the circle could be a zero with a line being drawn through it.
10:34So not zero.
10:35And his WWE gimmick is going to be some fear, Pentagon Jr.
10:41And the main event was the Judgment Day, finally defending their Raw tag titles against the
10:44War Raiders.
10:45Ivar was super over in his hometown throughout, and because the rest of Judgment Day were
10:49banned from ringside, Finn had to take cheating into his own hands by going to grab a chair
10:54from the outside.
10:55But the Judgment Day ban doesn't extend to former members, as Damian Priest appeared
11:00to stop him from using the chair, letting the War Raiders hit their finish on pin Balor
11:04to become the new tag team champions.
11:07That was a good ending, and with Rhea vs Liv soon, we will hopefully be moving on from
11:12Judgment Day's stranglehold over all Raw's main divisions.
11:16This week's Raw is 77%.
11:19Now please go and watch and support our Movie Channel cutscene, which has a brand new video
11:23out on the Mickey Mouse movie Disney don't want you to see.
11:28The crazy story of the Runaway Brain, here's a clip.
11:32The shift between the 1980s and the 1990s cannot be understated.
11:36The shiny veneer of the previous decade had been replaced with a grungy outlook, and counter
11:41culture was prevalent in all forms of entertainment.
11:46Cartoons were no longer just reserved for Disney afternoons, as MTV was seeing great
11:50success amongst teen audiences and Gen Xers with Beavis and Butthead.
11:56Nickelodeon was airing gross out tune Ren and Stimpy, and Fox were gaining the ire of
12:01parents and even politicians with The Simpsons and the rise of Bartmania.
12:05I love Ren and Stimpy.
12:06I love the idea of Ren and Stimpy, maybe actually more than the cartoons.
12:10I definitely have some favourites, you know, Stimpy's Invention is a favourite.
12:14There's moments, there's one with Mr. Horse, he's like, how do you know I'm not from
12:18the FBI?
12:19I don't know, it was so weird.
12:21So I loved that it was getting made, I loved that it was getting popular.
12:24But I'd say Ren and Stimpy, big fan, love Simpsons.
12:28Not so much for the animation, but because it was contemporary, and at that time, people
12:35thought animation was just for kids, and when Disney made a movie, they were like, oh, isn't
12:41that nice?
12:42Yeah, yeah, someone must be interested in that somewhere.
