00:00A legit fight backstage at a wrestling event.
00:03An AEW star frustrated with Tony Khan.
00:06Fear about WWE's Netflix debut.
00:09And more.
00:11I'm Moustache Davis, and this is the Moustache Talk Moustache.
00:18Get exclusive bonus videos over at Patreon.com forward slash WrestleTalk.
00:23There really is nothing like it, is there?
00:25Larger than life characters, fiery promos to get us excited for the eventual match,
00:29and then two performers competing in a predetermined fight.
00:33I am, of course, talking about Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul from Friday Night.
00:38The star of The Hangover fought the singer of the 17th most disliked YouTube video of
00:42all time in a boxing match on the 15th November.
00:45The crowd booed continuously for the final two rounds, as Paul won by unanimous decision.
00:50But the reason I'm covering this in the WrestleTalk News isn't just because it's
00:54a work, brother.
00:55It's because this was Netflix's latest attempt to stream a large-scale sporting event
01:00ahead of Raw moving to the platform… in 49 days.
01:04And they didn't do great.
01:06Despite having almost a year to prepare for this livestream, the broadcast was plagued
01:10with technical glitches like audio issues, as pointed out by Mike Mulvihill, the President
01:14of Insights and Analytics at Fox, Jerry Jones saying Netflix is a huge part of the NFL's
01:20future into a mic that doesn't work, and then less than a minute later, the stream
01:23goes down.
01:25There have been repeated buffering issues from the second match on the card, where viewers
01:28experienced their screens either freezing or failing to load.
01:32The founder of Barstool Sports called it unwatchable.
01:35Many fans posted their fear on X about how Netflix will handle WWE's debut on their
01:39platform from January 6th.
01:42Before then, they've got several other big scale tests, streaming two NFL games on Christmas
01:46Day.
01:47Fightful Select, however, is reporting WWE officials aren't that worried about the
01:52move.
01:54Netflix has promised by Netflix that buffering and connectivity problems will be kept to
01:56a minimum for them, which I'm sure they also told everyone else.
02:00One executive even added that if Raw ever reached the same amount of traffic that Tyson
02:04vs Paul had, which Netflix claims was watched by 60 million households worldwide, quite
02:10a few more than WWE's 1.5-2 million weekly viewers, that would be a good problem to have.
02:17Netflix promoted Raw's debut on the boxing stream, unveiling the show's new logo, which
02:22appears to share the same red colour as the Netflix logo, is slightly 3D, and has the
02:27top and bottom lines which the show had up until 2012.
02:31But it's not just fancy word art WWE are using to get viewers in.
02:34Triple H turned up at a Travis Scott gig last night to invite him to the episode, which
02:39was later confirmed by WWE themselves, with tickets for the event going on sale this Friday
02:4422nd.
02:46Just to go back to the Tyson vs Paul fight, there is something else we need to talk about.
02:51How are we getting the Paul Brothers vs Mike Tyson and a WWE legend at WrestleMania 41?
02:57Wow, things escalated quickly.
02:59Admittedly, this is from my own fantasy booking from our Survivor Series episode of the Three
03:03Count.
03:04Here's that clip.
03:05Watch
03:30that brand new episode of the Three Count as soon as you're done watching this video.
03:33Because after the Tyson vs Jake Paul match, Tyson said he would maybe fight Jake's brother
03:39and WWE Superstar Logan Paul next.
03:43To which Logan replied, motherf*** I'd kill you.
03:46How would you book the Paul Brothers and Tyson crossing over into Netflix WWE?
03:49Let me know in the comments because I'll be replying to people FROM OUTTA-
04:12But nevermind workshoot boxing matches, how about those Shoot Shoot unplanned backstage
04:17fights?
04:19WWE's NG-19 show took place in Orlando, Florida on Saturday night.
04:23But it wasn't the promotion's famed deathmatch wrestling in the ring that's newsworthy.
04:26It's the former WWE talent who claims they got into a fight with another wrestler in
04:31the parking lot.
04:32Drake Verts used to be the head referee Drake Younger in the glory 20-teens period of NXT.
04:38Many classic TakeOver matches had his overly tanned body officiating them.
04:43It was the black and gold, and also kind of orange era.
04:46But in May 2021, Verts was released from his WWE contract following a string of controversies.
04:52He made appearances at his local county meetings to protest against mandated mask wearing,
04:57and Fightful Select reported he criticised NXT wrestlers for getting vaccinated, and
05:01that he stormed out of the 2020 In Your House event when Triple H said people of all religions
05:06and genders were welcome in WWE.
05:09He also reportedly used his corporate WWE email to coordinate activities for a QAnon
05:15adjacent organisation.
05:17Following his release, Verts ran for the Republican candidate for Florida's Statehouse
05:20District 30 and lost, and he un-retired from wrestling.
05:24Retired again in May 2023, to un-retire in October that same year for a deathmatch.
05:29BodySlam.net have now reported on a 6 minute live video posted to his Facebook page on
05:34Saturday night, where Verts claims he showed up at the GCW event, despite having no ties
05:39to the promotion, and presumably mistook it for the NXT parking lot.
05:44He claims to have gotten a wrestler called John Wayne Murdoch's face and gave him a
05:48couple two-piece and a biscuit, which is likely slang for fisticuffs, and sadly, not an actual
05:54biscuit.
05:55Verts alleged that Murdoch wouldn't keep his name out of his mouth, and he's not
05:59going to be pushed around anymore.
06:01The following morning, deathmatch legend NecroButcher posted on his Facebook, seemingly in support
06:06of Verts and against Murdoch.
06:09Thank you Drake Verts, I can think of no other wrestler who has taken more money from other
06:13wrestlers' families than that guy.
06:15Not to mention how many guys he has sent to the hospital, it needed done a long time ago.
06:21It's just a sign of the morally corrupt world we live in that he even exists in our
06:25business.
06:26Thank you, I love you.
06:28NecroButcher continued in the comments, accusing this other wrestler that he wouldn't name
06:32of spreading lies about other wrestlers, undercutting competition, refusing to appear on cards with
06:38people he's lied about, seriously injuring younger wrestlers to get himself over, and
06:43is basically a rotten person.
06:46Apparently Drake got tired of his s***.
06:48Murdoch, the wrestler who was seemingly being spoken about, then posted his own version
06:53of events in the private Deathmatch Elite 2.0 Facebook page, alleging Verts actually
06:58attacked him from behind while he was on the phone to his girlfriend and son.
07:02Which Murdoch described as bitch behaviour.
07:04Bitch behaviour, title of your next indie wrestling show.
07:07Thankfully AEW's backstage tensions are handled far more professionally.
07:12We just ignore them and hope it goes away.

08:18It's been almost a year since Dan Housen was last seen on TV, with his last appearance
08:22coming on the February 14th episode of Ring of Honor.
08:25But unlike his lengthy 2023 absence, this isn't because of an injury.
08:30In fact, Dan Housen appears to have been very healthy, very active, as he's wrestled
08:34over 50 matches since his last appearance for Tony Khan, featuring on shows in the US
08:39and UK for the likes of GCW, Progress, OTT, House of Glory and Defy.
08:44According to Fightful Select, because he is an AEW signed wrestler, Dan Housen gets approval
08:50from the AEW office to work every single one of those dates.
08:54But despite that, he and AEW have reportedly had very little contact whatsoever in the
09:00last six months.
09:02Apparently Dan Housen was set to return to TV a year ago following his time out injured,
09:06but these plans were changed, which led to him expressing frustration directly to Tony
09:13Khan.
09:14Even though more pitches were made to bring Dan Housen back to TV, even from Bryan Danielson,
09:18who was reportedly a big proponent, and Dan Housen being willing to return, nothing came
09:23of them.
09:24Apparently there was a belief within AEW that Dan Housen was deciding to prioritise his
09:29indie bookings rather than work collision on Saturdays.
09:32Which is an odd belief to have if you're the ones who can control how many indie bookings
09:36he takes.
09:37Dan Housen's contract will expire in the Summer of 2025.
09:41Tony Khan has recently developed a habit of just not using people he doesn't intend
09:45to renew the contracts of, so we might not see Dan Housen for a while.
09:50Friday's SmackDown saw WWE unveil the tournament brackets to crown the inaugural Women's
09:55United States Champion.
09:56And according to a new report from Fightful Select, WWE didn't want to do that.
10:02The tournament graphic, that is, not the belt itself.
10:05Apparently WWE was initially hesitant to air the brackets, as with Naomi in it, they felt
10:10it would undermine her Women's Championship match against Nia Jax that main evented the
10:14same episode.
10:15There was some speculation that the US belt would be a floating championship, available
10:19to be defended across both Raw and SmackDown.
10:22But Fightful writes that no Raw women were included in the tournament because the title
10:27would be exclusive to SmackDown for the immediate future.
10:30With Raw now the only brand in WWE not to have a secondary women's title, there's
10:35speculation backstage that a women's intercontinental belt will soon be introduced.
10:39But there's been no word on that, nor why the Raw women weren't included in the SmackDown
10:44tournament.
10:45It seems WWE really is keeping its performers in the dark over the US title plans, as Bayley
10:50has also revealed in an interview with the headliner Chicago that nobody knew that was
10:55happening.
10:56So, in a way, it was really cool to be surprised, and I was just happy that I was in front of
11:00a monitor when it was happening.
11:02I was in the middle of a meeting with one of my bosses, and it had just popped up.
11:06I heard Nick Aldis talk about the women, and I was like, whoa, hold on please, can we just
11:10watch this real quick?
11:11I'm so happy that I caught it.
11:13Otherwise I wouldn't have been around a monitor because there's so much going on.
11:16While the inaugural champion favourites are between Bayley, who has already advanced,
11:20or hopefully some actual conflict between women's tag team champions Bianca Belair
11:24and Jade Cargill, who could end up in the final against each other, WWE producer Shane
11:29Helms posted that B-Fab was the big favourite backstage on Friday night.
11:33Seeing so many people in gorilla pulling for B-Fab last night was very damn cool.

11:42Series in three words or less-slash-viewer.
