In New York, subway cars from the 1930s take passengers back in time

Paddle ceiling fans, incandescent light bulbs and vintage advertisements: New York subway cars used from the 1930s to the 1970s are back on the MTA tracks as part of the Holiday Nostalgia Rides program.

00:22Oh yeah, that's right Kanye.

00:24That's right Kanye.

00:29So everything about this is vintage from World War II era, the 1930s and 1940s.

00:35The light bulbs, the wicker seats, the ceiling fans, no air conditioning, no PA system.

00:41This is what it was like.

00:43Rockefeller Center will be next.

00:46Well, red is the color of December.

00:55And we love to look in style, so we have to have our gloves and a hat to keep our hair in place.

01:02I haven't experienced these lines in particular because I'm not old enough to remember this.

01:07But some of the other lines, as they were starting to transition between the 70s, 80s and into the 90s.

01:14And it kind of brings back a warm feeling in my heart.

01:17I'm 51 and I still find joy in doing this.

01:21I'm still a little kid. This transported me back when I was a little kid.

01:24Christmas trees and just good vibes.
