Chaos at Molineux as Wolves lose 2-1 to Ipswich Town

00:00The situation at Wolverhampton Wanderers has worsened still. A 2-1 defeat at home against

00:06fellow relegation battlers Ipswich Town today and a 94th minute winner for the visitors

00:12really damning Gary O'Neill's side. O'Neill under serious pressure already before this

00:16match and even more so now. Most supporters at this point have turned against him, definitely

00:22have turned against the ownership, Fozen and Geoff Shee, wanting them to leave the club.

00:27That's not a reality at this very moment in time but you can understand the frustrations

00:30as all the results on the field have not been good enough and then off the field as well.

00:34The matters, the discipline and the way that the players are operating just isn't good

00:38enough. Complete disarray to be honest with you. Ryan Aitnouri after full time today receiving

00:43a second yellow card in a melee with the Ipswich Town players and staff. Mateus Cunha, there

00:49have been photos and videos of him showing him potentially, well it seems he's putting

00:54his hand on the face of an Ipswich Town staff member. Whether he'll get any repercussions

00:58for that awaits to be seen. Gary O'Neill said in the press conference that he hasn't seen

01:03the incidents just yet but he takes them very seriously and there will be punishments issued

01:07to the Wolves players involved. But yeah, the complete disarray, whether a change in

01:11manager will change that or not, awaits to be seen. Personally I think Wolves need to

01:17get a change of head coach now. A very important game away at Leicester coming up next week,

01:23eight days to prepare for said game. This is potentially a window to do it but it is

01:27difficult heading into this festive period and obviously with so much going on at the

01:31football club off the field as well as on, it's not easy and there aren't any replacements

01:36that could potentially be lined up. The club have been trying in the back of the scenes

01:41to behind the scenes to get potential replacements in for O'Neill but nothing quite falling into

01:47place. So when there's so much insecurity with the managerial situation it's difficult

01:52for the on-field matters to improve. There's no doubt that the players tried today but

01:57once again it was defensive errors. The first goal, their own goal from Matt Doherty, very

02:01unfortunate the way the ball ricocheted and ended up in the back of the net but it should

02:05have been better defending from the new captain Nelson Samedo, completely shrugged off by

02:09Liam De Lappe and then that leads to the opportunity with blocked shots and then the goal, the

02:14ball ending up in the back of the net and then the winning goal for Ipswich. It's another

02:18corner, 16th goal already this season that Wolves have conceded from a set-piece. That

02:23simply isn't good enough. O'Neill has recognised that but he blames his players for not being

02:28in the right positions on the corner. He said that he'd arranged them in a certain way and

02:33had they stayed in that way they wouldn't have conceded but they went against his instructions

02:37and they conceded anyway. So if anything that just completely emphasises the fact that the

02:43players aren't maybe understanding what O'Neill is saying or they're not following it. Something

02:48is going wrong. O'Neill doesn't know what's going on. No doubt he's got good coaching

02:53ability, he's got good tactics in there somewhere but at the moment things aren't working for

02:57Wolves and four points deep in the relegation still, giving up points against their direct

03:02rivals. This is a serious situation and one that needs to be addressed sooner rather than

03:06later.
