00:00Well the Hampton Wanderers are gearing up for another Premier League season
00:06but with pressure mounting there's a growing sense they could be dragged into another relegation battle
00:13Vito Pereira now tasked with steering walls through a potentially tricky campaign
00:19faces the challenges of tightening up a side that at times looked vulnerable last term
00:24his focus will be on restoring defensive resilience while finding more consistency in attack
00:30with the top fights intensity as fierce as ever Wolves' priority will be to avoid getting sucked into trouble early on
00:38something that could define their season
00:40to get more insight into Wolves' prospects we spoke to Charlie Haffenden of Birmingham World
00:47who believes there's a mixture of determination and unease around Molyneux
00:53as fans wait to see if the squad has enough quality and depth to steer clear of any danger
00:59Charlie let's look at Wolves and let's start with the sort of elephant in the room
01:06the outgoings this summer
01:08I mean it's been a massive hit really to the squad in terms of depth
01:12in terms of proven Premier League talent
01:14they're going to be taking a bit of a punt on players coming in
01:17who haven't really had any experience in the top flight in England
01:21I mean it starts obviously with Mateus Cunha, Ryan Aitnora, your two best players really from the last season
01:27so that's a massive hit in itself
01:29then Tommy Doyle you feel he could have been a fringe player
01:32but Pereira obviously has made that decision
01:34and then obviously we mentioned the importance of the skipper Nelson Sameda
01:39who's out the door as well
01:41a massive loss in him
01:42Pablo Sarabia yes maybe wasn't the greatest talent
01:46but did chip in at times when he was needed and he was confident
01:49and then obviously Bubakar Traore and Goncalo Guedes as well
01:55two more big names really in terms of that squad depth
01:58I mean it's been a real outgoing summer for Wolves in terms of the headlines
02:04will it affect them as much as it could
02:08because obviously when teams do massive overhaul clear outs
02:11it can really come back to bite them
02:13It's definitely difficult isn't it
02:16looking at it on the surface
02:17you've lost best attacker at Wolves in Mateus Cunha
02:21there's a lot of money there at least
02:2262.5 million is a record sale
02:25Ryan Aitnora, 33 million plus some add-ons to match the city
02:29that feels a bit low considering he's such a proven asset
02:32and especially in the back three in the Pereira
02:34the perfect kind of left wing back
02:36City have signed him
02:38he's one of the top players in the division in that position
02:40so that's a huge loss
02:42but there is a lot of money there
02:44Sameda as well
02:45you mentioned is probably even more important than Aitnora
02:47in terms of his experience and his leadership
02:49as well as the captain
02:50that's a huge loss
02:52but there is a lot of money that has been brought in
02:54they have made some exciting signings
02:56it's just that unproven nature as you mentioned Charles
02:58it's going to be quite difficult
02:59for the likes of John Arias and Phil Lopez
03:02to make a difference immediately up front
03:04we quite often see when players come in from South America
03:07and from Spain
03:08that it can take a year or so
03:10for them to properly settle
03:11it's going to be incredibly difficult
03:14and they are the big signings up top
03:15they are meant to be the ones replacing Cunha
03:18replacing Sarabia
03:19can they do it straight away?
03:21it's going to be difficult
03:22but at least Jorgen Strand-Larsen has signed permanently
03:24I think that's quite a big move
03:26scored 14 goals in his opening Premier League season
03:29there's been talk
03:30he's an option potentially for Newcastle United
03:32as a striker option
03:34if Alexander Izak goes to Liverpool
03:35so he's a fantastic player
03:38someone who could be the talisman figure this season
03:40and of course in midfield
03:42Andre and Joao Gomez
03:43I think is probably one of the best partnerships
03:46outside the big six
03:47if not the best partnership outside the big six
03:49maybe Aston Villas
03:51Tielemans and Kamara could trump those
03:53but yeah
03:54it's going to be very difficult for Wolves
03:55but they have still got some great individuals
03:57and I expect they'll probably go and spend some more money as well
03:59of course not proven in the Premier League
04:01but is proven in a top flight
04:03I'm hoping he'll be able to be a good replacement for Ait Nuri
04:06on the right though
04:08it's difficult because Mark Puebill went to Atletico Madrid
04:11instead of Wolves
04:12Juan Luis Sanchez rejecting Wolves in favour of Napoli
04:14talks potentially of Julian Ryerson from Dortmund
04:17these are all if buts and maybes
04:20they're not really definitives
04:21and they're not players who are showing a proper desire
04:23to play for Wolves unlike Wolves on the opposite side
04:27it's tricky
04:28Wolves need to find someone who's capable
04:30down the right-hand side
04:31because Semedo was such a critical part of Pereira's system
04:34but every faith in Pereira as a manager
04:36he does get the best at the bad situations
04:40and should be able to help Wolves push on next season
04:42thank you
05:00thank you
