00:07To me, there's only one major downside of not having kids, and no, it has nothing to do with

00:11a nursing home or being a lonely cat woman, is that people don't take you seriously.

00:16Sade Sellers, a child-free advocate and lifestyle influencer,

00:20recently revealed how society often perceives child-free individuals as having no responsibilities,

00:26leading to the expectation that those without children should

00:29freely give their time to those who choose to have kids.

00:32What happens is we get the brunt of the work when we don't want it, and we don't get twice the pay,

00:36and we're just supposed to be understanding, like, well, she went on a maternity leave.

00:39That was her choice.

00:41For Sade, she feels it's about respect for her time and boundaries around her conscious choice

00:47For me, there was a reason why I didn't have children.
