HIGH-ROLLING entrepreneurs Jenny and Mitch pulled their children out of school because they felt it was a "waste of time". Their four children - Chloe, Colette, Calystabelle and Christian - live with them in the family's luxurious home, complete with its own hockey shooting range, games room and movie theater. But it was not just a comfortable upbringing that gave Jenny and Mitch's now-adult children a head start in life. As Jenny told Truly: "I decided to not go the traditional route of the public school system. My husband and I taught our kids how to be successful". And their choice to homeschool their children seems to have paid off - their youngest daughter Calystabelle now makes "six figures" each year as an influencer, often enlisting her family (including her parents) when making content for her social media. But with the glamorous lifestyle, the family have also faced a backlash for unashamedly enjoying the finer things in life. Calystabelle told Truly how she is often accused of using "daddy's money" to fund her designer collections when, in fact, she funds everything herself. Others have accused the parents of teaching their children "a world view that is shallow and hopeless" and even went as far as to call Jenny and Mitch's parenting "borderline child abuse". But the parents are unmoved by the judgement they've received - placing more importance on the time they've been able to enjoy together as a family and the fact that their children have been able to accomplish their dreams.

00:00School was really a waste of time, so we decided to pull our kids out and help
00:03educate them. Through social media I make about six figures a year. I can record my
00:08life and get paid. That's what I want to do. There's definitely comments that, you
00:12know, mommy's money, daddy's money. This woman is teaching her daughters a
00:17world view that is shallow and hopeless. This is borderline child abuse. What
00:22were you doing? Jenny, why did you decide to pull kids out of school?
00:28Hi, welcome to our house. I'm Jenny and this is my daughter Calistebel. So I have
00:34four children. I have Chloe who's 27, Colette who's 24, Calistebel who's 21, and my
00:41son Christian who is 17. Colette is also married so now we have a son-in-law Eli.
00:46My husband Mitch and I have been married for 29 years. Our property goes way back
00:54there. We have a shooting range for Christian's hockey and so we spend a lot
00:59of our time in the backyard. Our game room, we have some basketball, pool,
01:05foosball, and darts. This is our movie theater. We built the stage for the girls
01:10to perform because they all love to perform. I decided when the children are
01:17younger to kind of not go the traditional route of the public school system. Mitch
01:22and I are both very entrepreneur mindset. My husband and I taught our kids how to be successful.
01:29What do the kids do to make money? My children, they kind of all entrepreneur themselves.
01:35Calistebel, she is just 100% social media influencer. This is my favorite room which is my bedroom.
01:43Everybody thinks it's just like a bookshelf but it's my closet. So you can just, little staircase comes out
01:50here. I'm just coming. This is my favorite part of the whole house. This was a vision of hers for
01:58probably four or five years. My dad and mom built this like whole room. For social media I make about
02:04six figures a year. My goal is to just fill up this whole thing with purses. I know it's a lot but I love it so much.
02:10My most expensive purchase is my Chanel bag. This was like $6,000 or something like that.
02:17This kind of impulse buy honestly. I did make all of these purchases myself. It's not for my daddy's
02:24money. It's for my money that I made from social media. I get a lot of comments saying daddy's money.
02:29Yes my parents do have money but so do I so I do buy my own stuff. I knew I never wanted to be in a
02:36traditional job. I never like my dad would talk to me like he would counsel people and I was like oh
02:41gosh like I can't sit out of the desk like I can't do that dad. So like me like oh I can record my life
02:47and get paid. That's what I want to do. I'm so glad that my mom pulled me out of school. You guys ready
02:52to make some brunch? Yeah. Let's go. We'll get Christian making the pancakes. Jenny why did you decide
03:04to pull kids out of school? We just decided that like we wanted to be able to educate our children
03:11and be able to go and travel the world with them take them with us and so the best option for us was
03:18to home educate them and that's what we did. I saw there was a lot of fluff time and I wanted that
03:22fluff time to be something that they were passionate about and I realized that putting them in a public
03:27school system with nine hours a day being gone there wasn't a lot of time after when they would
03:32come home at four or five o'clock at night for them to actually pursue their dreams. Is this like a typical
03:37day? Do you guys hang out in the kitchen? I would say this is pretty typical. The kitchen and the living room
03:41are like our safe spots like like no matter what we're doing if like one has to do homework and like one
03:45has to like edit videos we're always in like the same area and always in the same place because we
03:49just love hanging out with each other. We just wanted to have more of that family life and slow
03:53down a little bit and really enjoy having the relationships with them. We're always together and
03:58I love it. Do you want to quickly make a TikTok? Yes. I'm going to have to learn the dance real quick
04:04first so I don't know which one did you want me to do? I'll show you. Okay. Elizabeth was into social media
04:09when she was like 12 years old she kept on asking like can I use your phone I want to make a vlog and we
04:15would go to the gym and she would just record and then she would come home and and clip it and post
04:20it on Instagram and I started to realize like she's really passionate about this. Okay. Start again.
04:26Yeah so it's like dances like this that went viral on Christmas social media. She follows the trends
04:32and she's like hey mom can you hop in this learn a dance real quick and it's just simple things like
04:37that that I've done and they've gone viral. I started to be like I love the fact that we can still get our
04:43school work done throughout the day and then they can be creative and do what they really want to do.
04:48Oh you did it. Thank you. Perfect. Okay. I think people also like to see the mother-daughter duo
04:56because you know I think that's important or they they must like it. There's definitely comments
05:01the way I look or things like that. I honestly think it's funny when people comment about my mom being
05:05like a milf or hot because I just feel like oh well thanks because I'm going to be hot when I'm older.
05:11Calistabelle is the one that started TikTok for the whole family. It's every day with the
05:16air of sense. Take two steps back dad. Perfect. Go for it.
05:30Are you okay? I don't know. That takedown was crazy. Do you enjoy doing the TikToks with your
05:36family? It's super fun because I get a beat up on your mind a little bit. Give a few smacks and you
05:40don't want to smack me back. You know and I think it keeps us close. You know that was the biggest thing I
05:44saw when we took the kids out of school and decided to homeschool. We wanted a tight family. We wanted
05:49to be able to you know help them pursue their dreams but be a part of their dreams as well and
05:54not just spend time with them but invest time and this has allowed us to do that. Sometimes we go
05:58through our comments. I'm going to read a few comments back to you guys. Here's one comment.
06:02This woman is teaching her daughters a world view that is shallow and hopeless. I cannot imagine these
06:09children will ever find true happiness. This is borderline child abuse. What we do? Yeah so
06:16they're saying what we do is child abuse? Child abuse that's a bit much. Yeah that's kind of wild
06:21because we're gearing up kids that are a blessing to society instead of a menace to society because
06:27they're they're learning how to be self-sufficient. We would much rather have our children love what they
06:32do than go and make a ton of money and hate their life. I have absolutely no regrets taking my kids out
06:38of school because I've actually seen them prosper in every single thing that they've ever wanted
06:43to do. I mean my children have like traveled the world they've done more than Mitch and I did when
06:50we were 40 years old. Dad's like dad likes us nice and toasted. I would say if you're contemplating
06:59whether or not you know you should home school or private or public I think you just got to figure
07:03out what what are you trying to accomplish. I feel like people kind of like think that just because
07:08you're homeschooled you don't have like a social life that you're just always in your home you don't
07:11want to speak to people when you're out in public and you're like at the shelf but we're actually
07:15we're not but that's kind of how people like take it as it is. I feel like what you did was really
07:20amazing. I wasn't raised you know in homeschooling system but for me I just wanted a head start on
07:25making money. Getting to know Colette and being in the entrepreneurship family that she's in it
07:30it definitely gave me a different route that I wanted to take. I think homeschooling is a great
07:34opportunity for a parent to be the number one influence for their kids. I mean hands down we
07:38were so proud of all of you guys you know watching you guys grow up and becoming the people that you
07:43are today it's been amazing. More importantly like we I've just enjoyed every single minute raising my
07:50children like I've loved it you know I really hope that each one of their kids really accomplish what
07:54they've wanted to accomplish in life and if Mitch and I can be a part of it that's awesome.
07:57What do you hope people will learn from watching this from watching this
