00:00But our counsellor is not here, Sheeba Chaddha.
00:07That is true.
00:08She is more of a judge.
00:09Sheeba has a very judgemental way of looking at your life.
00:13Should we do it again?
00:16You won't be able to do it.
00:19You know, counselling becomes consoling.
00:23That day itself, Rajesh sir and Anand ji talked about the same thing.
00:33That you should bring out your Saurabh in your own way.
00:38You don't need to copy.
00:40The way you look at the character, move that forward.
00:44So, that was for that.
00:46And when I saw that it was not an easy series.
00:51Because Anand motivated me a lot.
00:54Because when I saw that he was sitting in different sessions with the music.
00:59He made Sarangi do classes.
01:01So, it was not like he was doing anything.
01:04There was a thought process behind everything.
01:06Whether it was scripting or music.
01:09Sarangi could have cheated.
01:11But a lot of effort was made for the actor to come close to that instrument.
01:18And to feel that connection.
01:20When I saw the first season, I saw that connection.
01:23It was not just singing.
01:25When I had my first shoot, I saw Sheba ji and Atul ji working on the notation.
01:31So, it was not like you were lip syncing.
01:33You had to do the notation properly.
01:35You did it by remembering it and rehearsing it.
01:38So, thank you very much.
01:41You have inspired us a lot.
01:44One thing about Saurabh.
01:46Saurabh and I have a very good relationship.
01:49We have known each other for many years.
01:51So, Saurabh has never done English plays.
01:53He has done a lot of Hindi plays.
01:54He wanted to do something in English.
01:57So, we gave him some English words that Saurabh only had to say.
02:04So, in 8 episodes, we found a place for him.
02:07Where can we say these words?
02:09I have done my own dubbing in the English version of Saurabh.
02:39So, many composers came together to create songs.
02:42Which are very relevant to the episodes that you will see.
02:46And who is it being shot on.
02:49For example, there is a song that Shankar Mahadevan sir has sung for Atul sir.
02:53That comes at a very important time in this season.
02:57Called Surhi Parmatma.
02:59So, we worked with different composers for different reasons.
03:10What I learnt from Shankar Hassan Loi in season 1 is.
03:13That our composers are not just dealing with melodies.
03:17They have been dealing with storytelling all along.
03:19And that we have seen in all their work.
03:21From the time they did Mission Kashmir to Bandish Bandits.
03:25They have always told you stories as they went along.
03:27When they created Bhoomroo Bhoomroo.
03:30Or when they created Virah.
03:32There was a reason why those two songs were in those two interesting stories.
03:36And that's the learning we took forward in season 2.
03:40Where, anyway Bandish Bandits is a place where music is part of their lives.
03:45Every time they are singing, they are not just singing to an audience.
03:48There is so much interpersonal drama happening in their lives.
03:50So, season 2 is pretty much that.
03:52But without giving you any spoilers.
03:54When you see those songs, there is a reason why there are different composers this time.
03:58And of course, with the blessings of SEL.
04:01We were able to do that.
04:04Because the journey that Gharana takes.
04:07And the journey Tamanna's world takes.
04:15Unlike films, which are to be told in 2 and half hours or 3 hours.
04:19Unlike that, in a web show, the story can be told in a very elaborate manner.
04:28So, in web shows, there is a journey.
04:31Of course, there are turning points and there are twists and all that.
04:35But for characterizations, it's more of many pointers.
04:40And that way, for all the characters.
04:44Not only for the Vijay's character.
04:46There are a lot many pointers on which we write.
04:51I think every medium is owned by everyone.
04:54If the theater was the medium of actors.
04:57You wouldn't remember the greatest playwright Shakespeare's name.
05:00You would have remembered the guy who actually played Romeo.
05:02So, I don't agree on that.
05:05But I will agree to the fact that the amount of exploration as Atul was mentioning.
05:11Writers get to explore a story with different characters.
05:17Writers don't get that in films.
05:19They have to be kept in a finite time.
05:22No matter how many sequels you do.
05:24So, you could in that way say it's a writer's medium.
05:29But I don't agree that one is purely one person's medium.
05:33Or one discipline's medium.
05:35Everything has to come together in all these performing arts.
05:38To make a film.
05:40So, I don't agree on that.
05:43Everything has to come together in all these performing arts.
05:45To tell you the right story for that medium.
05:53Yes, there is a very important one.
05:55That 13th of December on Amazon Prime.
05:59All the episodes come out.
06:01So, please do watch it.
06:02And watch it as much of binge as you possibly can.
06:06And please sleep also.
06:08But binge it and then sleep.
06:10And then please write to us.
06:12I really hope you like it.
06:13And if enough of you like it.
06:15Then maybe there is more in store.
