00:00and my first question is to both of you uh working with mike uh who has a speciality in
00:06you know in horror storytelling what was that experience like and plus you know it's a stephen
00:10king story so if you could walk me through the process and your experience anyone can take the
00:15lead and start yeah uh for me it was life-changing it was my first time working with mike and
00:19his
00:19people his his team and i i'm just so grateful he is who he is and he has brought this
00:27incredible
00:28team together um i didn't have to worry about not liking anybody on set because i knew he hired
00:34great people um we all were really close friends and he made a collaborative space for us um he's
00:42just so prepared always and his work is exceptional and i am honored to be a part of it yeah
00:48yeah i've
00:49worked through this my seventh project with him and it's it's always a joy and i think what you
00:54had mentioned stephen king that they just they're so kindred spirits in so many ways so um this is
01:01actually the second stephen king adaptation i've worked on with mike and and it's just uh i think
01:06they understand each other so well and it's such a um so mike's vision is always really has king so
01:13so um so at heart so okay okay and talking about your characters your on-screen characters you know
01:22uh they have they share a certain relationship uh the mother you know it has a certain uh she behaves
01:27in a certain way with the daughter i'm not gonna give you any spoilers uh but to cultivate that mind
01:31space to get into the headspace of those characters what was that like for you for both of you
01:36yeah well i connected with carrie from the moment i started reading the scenes and scripts um i just
01:42thought the version of her mike had put on the pages was so beautiful and she's kind and open and
01:48just
01:49different from the past version so that excited me um and we were lucky enough to have like three weeks
01:56of rehearsals beforehand with the other cast as well and so we had a lot of time to get to
02:01know each other
02:02and and build a trust and a bond between all of us and and then get into the characters and
02:07it just
02:08makes it easier you know when it's such a close relationship mother daughter or best friends like
02:13sue and chris you need that time and so that's rare um we were very lucky to have that yeah
02:18and and just
02:19the the mindset of uh you know mike's shifted us to be a loving mother and daughter and so that
02:26really
02:27changes everything and and so the the time that we got to spend in rehearsal and just summer
02:31being a wonderful person that connection was a lot easier to form okay and working on a hard project
02:38uh i'm sure at times it weighs heavier on your mind you know all those train wreck of emotions and
02:44everything uh what's your process to cleanse your entire system you know once you're done giving you
02:48know an intense take yeah well i have limited time when you're working 12 hour days and a lot of
02:55those
02:55are covered in blood head to toe or mud or whatever else they want to throw at me um but
03:01my my only
03:02other job really was to make sure i stayed healthy to go home and eat food and go to bed
03:07on time even
03:08when i wanted to stay up and and do my own thing but um yeah i also journal a lot
03:14so keeping track of
03:15things uh mentally being grateful through it all because there's no reason not to be um yeah
03:22and mine is just a nice hot shower or bath it's always nice to kind of get all the makeup
03:29off even
03:30if you know even just the the basic makeup and just relax give your body a little a little attention
03:36yeah yeah and for my last question just for you samantha you say that you have worked with mike
03:42very often yeah seventh project this if i may say so and then you have a process also coming up
03:46uh mike as a storyteller how would you define him what is it that makes him stand out from other
03:52storytellers or filmmakers i mean i keep saying i feel like it's he just writes people that we
03:58recognize he writes uh fully rounded human beings that are imperfect and that that kind of allows us to
04:07to let them in and see ourselves in that and then also he's just he comes from such a place
04:13of um
04:14real hope for the world so even though he's dealing with these dark subjects it's always like aiming
04:20towards a light place and i really appreciate that in him because i feel like we could use a lot
04:25more of
04:25that sure so that would be my time thank you so much and i wish you all the best for
04:30the series
04:30thank you very much thank you
04:33thank you
