00:05hit the Visayas as a result of Man Kalaon's unexpected volcanic discharge yesterday afternoon
00:11that has prompted a forced evacuation of over 54,000 residents in the danger zone.
00:16And relief items and food packs are on their way as we speak while the DOST and DNR evaluate
00:21the prevailing conditions and the DND and OCD preside over the evacuation efforts.
00:29Following the eruption of Mount Kalaon, President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. assured the government
00:34is ready to help affected families.
00:37According to the president, while the government is focused on the current situation, it will
00:41also not neglect assisting those affected by the calamity.
00:45In fact, the Department of Budget and Management, or DBM, has assured that there are sufficient
00:50funds to provide assistance to those in need.
00:52First of all, I got the report from Secretary Rex Gatchalian who landed already in Negros
01:00early this morning.
01:01I spoke with DBM and he assured me they are ready to support the families who have been
01:07evacuated outside the six-kilometer danger zone.
01:12Relief operations have also begun, with the Department of Social Welfare and Development,
01:16or DSWD, distributing family food packs and other basic necessities to affected residents.
01:21Simultaneously, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and the Department of
01:26Science and Technology are working to assess the situation.

01:57the situation and the needs of evacuees.
02:00The DSWD Field Office 6 has deployed its Mobile Command Center to provide services to affected
02:06residents including communication support, internet connectivity, and power supply.
02:11Meanwhile, an additional 5,000 boxes of family food packs have been sent by the DSWD Visayas
02:17Disaster Resource Center.
02:19The Canlaon City Action Team and other local government units have immediately delivered
02:23relief assistance to evacuees in evacuation centers.
02:27Among the assistance provided were transportation, hot meals, medical checkups, and other essentials.
