Menyambut momen Natal 2024 dan Tahun Baru 2025, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) hadirkan Direct Train sebuah kereta dengan perjalanan tanpa pemberhentian Stasiun antara tujuan Stasiun Gambir, Semarang Tawang, Jawa Tengah, yang menempuh waktu perjalanan hanya 4 jam. Meski baru sebatas uji coba, namun tiket Direct Train yang baru saja diluncurkan oleh Menteri Perhubungan (Menhub), Dudy Purwagandhi, dan juga Menteri BUMN, Erick Thohir, telah ludes terjual.
