00:00The hottest female emcee of 2024.
00:12Cardi B is our number 10 hottest female emcee of 2024.
00:21She is staying consistent and putting out music,
00:23which I don't think a lot of other rappers can say they're doing
00:26or have done in 2024.
00:31Cardi B deserves to be on this list
00:33because she has contributed multiple singles in this year.
00:37We have Enough Miami, which is a Grammy-nominated song.
00:40She also was featured on multiple records with Shakira,
00:43Rob 49, Peso Pluma,
00:45and she was on the Wannabe remix with Glorilla and Megan Thee Stallion.
00:49Cardi B, again, is Grammy-nominated,
00:52and I'm so happy she's at number 10.
00:54And hopefully in 2025, we can get her to number one, period.
01:00If I ask for it, all I want to hear is yes.
01:02Bitch says she want to be my opp, God bless.
01:07Our number nine on the list of female emcees for 2024 is Rapsody.
01:12Back in the days when niggas were famous.
01:15Stupid tight caps just trying to get you wet.
01:17When we did the first six months,
01:19the one name that we did not have on the list was Rapsody's,
01:23and we got some pushback from folks I'd been pushing.
01:27So let's look again.
01:28It rain and it rain, yeah, you see how I'm coming.
01:31There's a lot of artists out there who are true to their craft,
01:34and for them, it's more about making the music,
01:37and I think she's telling her truth in the way she wants to do it.
01:41She's multi-generational.
01:42I share some things with my daughter,
01:44listening to Rapsody and vice versa.
01:47Rapsody deserves to be on this list.
01:49If you do not think so, then go back and listen to her discography in order.
01:53Her flow, her metaphors, she's just such a gifted lyricist.
01:59When we did this ranking back in June, JT was number nine,
02:03and that was before the release of City Cinderella,
02:06her debut solo mixtape.
02:07Right now, she's at number eight.
02:15I feel like it really has been a fantastic year for JT.
02:17We've seen her go on two tours.
02:19We have seen her surpass the charting position of every single City Girls album.
02:29When I was visiting campuses across the country for Homecoming season,
02:33I kept hearing JT.
02:35If there was any doubt whether or not JT could establish herself
02:38as a viable act outside of the City Girls, those doubts have been vetted.
02:49That's all I got for you.
02:59Doja Cat is at number seven on our list.
03:07She's had a really great run for the last five years now,
03:10and she is just still so present in the culture,
03:12even when she's not releasing music.
03:13She always kind of finds a way to become part of the conversation
03:16because she's such an interesting artist.
03:17I love actually Agoura Hills, this kind of airy, dreamy sort of sound to it,
03:21and she's kind of putting on this like ballet girl affectation on the song.
03:24It wouldn't work for 90% of artists, maybe 99% of artists,
03:27but again, when we talk about versatility, that's Doja Cat.
03:30That's the name of the game with Doja Cat.
03:37I think that Doja Cat has done a really important job
03:40of reminding people that rap music can be pop music,
03:43that they can both be an inextricable part of what she does well
03:46and the core parts of her artistry.
03:51Coming in at number six, we have Dolce, the Swamp Princess.
03:58I wanted Dolce to be higher, honestly.
04:00I think she's just super talented.
04:02She can sing, she can rap.
04:04Her music sounds different from everybody else's.
04:06She's just having a great year.
04:14She's getting looks.
04:15She was at Camp Flog Nosh.
04:17She's just a performer.
04:18She just has that star power.
04:21She has that one track that kind of has like a dance club feel.
04:25Basically like hip-hop kind of taking back that EDM dance club sound
04:30because that was created by black people.
04:39My last words on Dolce, she's a star.
04:41She has the talent to be big.
04:47We got Big Lotto at number five.
04:56This is obviously Big Mama's year.
04:58She's just championed so many of the rap girls
05:01and become a champion in her own right.
05:03She's collabed with Anastasia on Back Outside,
05:06Megan Thee Stallion and Flo Milli on the Sunday Service remix.
05:10I feel like she's the rap girl's rap girl.
05:12Everyone fucks with her.
05:14Settle Down is that one for me.
05:16If that goes on in the club, I'm on the floor.
05:25I just feel like with Lotto's freestyling,
05:27it proves that she's a real lyricist.
05:29You can just go off on any beat.
05:32That's what makes Lotto so sick
05:34and sets her apart from so many rappers, male or female.
05:40Coming in at number four is Sexy Red.
05:47My favorite track is Get It Sexy.
05:49That to me is just a genius record.
05:52You could play that at a party, at a strip club,
05:55and it'll fucking go crazy.
05:57She's just great overall.
05:59I love Sexy Red.
06:01She reminds me of someone I went to high school with.
06:05She's just like a regular girl from the neighborhood.
06:07You know what I mean?
06:08That likes to have fun.
06:09I don't know.
06:11I think Sexy Red's greatest cultural impact
06:13is just to be yourself and have fun.
06:16I don't know.
06:17She's just always having fun.
06:18Everybody loves her, right?
06:20Big, Tyler, all these rappers gravitate towards her.
06:23She's doing wrestling.
06:25She's just hilarious.
06:26My last words on Sexy Red is
06:28I hope she runs for president for real one day.
06:35At number three, we have the queen, Nicki Minaj.
06:43What's a female rap list without Nicki Minaj?
06:45But even without releasing an album in 2024,
06:47Pink Friday 2 came out in 2020.
06:49You know what the best-selling female rap album was
06:51as far as units go?
06:52Pink Friday 2.
06:53So even in a year where she doesn't release an album,
06:55she's still a dominating force.
06:57She added another top 15 hit, FTCU.
06:59Ended up taking off, adding to her 148 total Hot 100 hits.
07:03Pink Friday 2 world tour was absolutely massive.
07:05She had a North American leg, went to Europe,
07:08and then came back and spun the block for a second leg.
07:10Now she has the fourth best-selling tour for a rapper ever,
07:13and it's by far the best-selling for a female rapper.
07:16Don't take Nicki's greatness for granted.
07:18I think when we see greatness in front of us for so long,
07:20I think we can get a little bit jaded and,
07:22I would say, appreciate her before it's all done.
07:28Megan Thee Stallion is number two on the hottest female MC list.
07:38Megan Thee Stallion had an extremely amazing year in 2024.
07:44I think it was her redemption year,
07:46and I think she really, really did prove herself.
07:48She had her album, Megan.
07:50She hosted the VMAs.
07:51She had a number one single, Hiss.
07:53And she had multiple top 40 hits.
07:55I remember when I first saw Megan Thee Stallion,
07:58she was dropping these music videos on Twitter,
08:01these freestyles,
08:02and never heard anything like that in my life.
08:05Her being able to multitask with going to school,
08:08having a rap career,
08:09and dealing with so many adversities coming her way,
08:12I think is very, very, very remarkable.
08:14I think it can honestly be inspirational for the next generation.
08:26The hottest female MC of 2024.
08:30Yeah, Glow!
08:31Ms. Glow Rilla.
08:40Glow was number six for our initial list.
08:43I heard the rumbles.
08:44I heard the complaints,
08:45because she was having a great year.
08:46This second half of the year,
08:48she's been going fucking bonkers.
08:50And the arsenal of hits, man.
08:51TGIF being a huge record for her.
09:01Wannabe with Meg being a huge record for her.
09:03And then when she came out with the debut album,
09:05she doubled up big time with Glorious.
09:06Ended up getting the top female rap album debut
09:10on the 200 this year
09:12with 65 plus on the 200.
09:14So for her to keep that momentum
09:16and then go into the next week
09:17and still be in the top 10,
09:18we haven't seen that this year.
09:20So stats wise, culturally,
09:22she's been killing it.
09:23Rihanna co-signed her TGIF.
09:25RiRi.
09:26She's been riding out.
09:28Ride or die for Glow.
09:36Female MC of the modern era
09:38to pop out of Memphis
09:40and do it as big as she has.
09:41I mean, she just got a key to the city this year
09:44to highlight all of her accomplishments.
09:46Glow deserves to be out here
09:47because real rap, just go outside.
09:49What hasn't she done?
09:51She's everywhere right now.
09:53Men lie.
09:54Women lie.
09:55I'm just telling you.
