00:00Hello, very good day to you. There's going to be quite a lot of weather to come as we
00:04go through the rest of this week. Earlier on today there was a ridge of high pressure
00:08across us so it was relatively quiet for a time but if we look at the jet stream it's
00:13very strong, very active and it's going to push across the UK and within the jet we could
00:17see speeds of around 250 miles per hour so it's no real surprise that we're going to
00:22see some very unsettled weather arriving. Initially an area of low pressure that's going
00:27to track somewhere to the north of the UK as we go through the end of today and overnight
00:31into tomorrow bringing some very wet and windy weather to many parts for a time. Then another
00:36system comes through on Thursday again bringing some heavy rain and strong winds. Ridge of
00:41high pressure on Friday may quieten things down for a period of time but for another
00:46feature arrives on Saturday. This could be a particularly deep area of low pressure.
00:50Still some uncertainty about how deep it's going to be, how intense and also the exact
00:56track how north or south it's going to push and so as a result uncertainty about the impacts
01:01but worth keeping up to date on this one because it could cause some problems. However if we
01:06go back to this afternoon some glimmers of sunshine, pretty weak sunshine at this time
01:10of year but nonetheless some of us seeing some bright blue skies particularly towards
01:13central eastern areas. Further west the cloud will be building and some wet and windy weather
01:19will be sweeping its way in initially across parts of Northern Ireland but later on as
01:23we go through the afternoon into western parts of Scotland and some outbreaks pushing
01:27into the far west of England and Wales as well. Staying drier towards the east but here
01:31it is going to be pretty chilly, temperatures struggling mid single figures in some places.
01:37Further west with the cloud, the rain, the wind we are going to see some milder air so
01:40temperatures are lifting a little bit here. Now as we go through this evening and overnight
01:45the heaviest rain is going to push its way across many parts of Scotland and perhaps
01:49the far north of England too. It should rattle through relatively quickly but nonetheless
01:53we could see totals over higher ground building up around 30-40mm perhaps. Also some very
01:58strong winds towards the north west of Scotland, gusts of around 65-70 perhaps a bit stronger
02:04than that in some exposed spots. Further south across England and Wales the rain may actually
02:09take a little bit longer to push its way through, perhaps won't be quite as intense as further
02:14north but nonetheless again we could see some high rainfall totals building up overnight.
02:19Again over perhaps the Brecon Beacons, Dartmoor, other high ground for example we could also
02:24see 30-40mm and with the ground pretty saturated after the heavy rain we had towards the end
02:29of November we could see some localised issues. The rain clinging on in the south east as
02:34we head towards or through the early hours of tomorrow morning and that rain also is
02:39going to do something quite interesting with our temperatures. A chilly start to the night
02:43for some of us but as that rain pushes its way in many of us are going to see our temperatures
02:47lifting through the night so a relatively mild start for many of us first thing tomorrow
02:52morning. That rain in the south east though through tomorrow will clear away quite quickly
02:56and then we are going to have something a bit drier. Yes some showery outbreaks coming
03:00in from the west but many places having some drier and perhaps brighter weather for a time
03:05before that next system that I mentioned earlier comes through as we go through Thursday afternoon
03:11and this is likely to bring some heavy bursts of rain, a bit more or less widespread compared
03:17to the feature coming through this evening and overnight but where we see the rain it
03:21could be pretty heavy and with the ground being very saturated after the heavy rain
03:26just before it this could cause some issues. So again we could see some problems, some
03:30localised flooding where we see this heavy rain arriving. We are going to see our temperatures
03:35a little bit above average for the time of year as we go through tomorrow and the winds
03:40strengthening as well so another warning in force across parts of northern England
03:45into Northern Ireland as well due to the nature of this band of showery rain that's pushing
03:51its way through. We could have some very strong gusts and that could cause some problems.
03:55As we go through later on this week and yes Friday does look like a quieter date for many
04:00of us but then there's the potential for some very heavy rain and some strong winds as we
04:04go into the weekend so definitely worth keeping up to date with that one and then fairly strong
04:10signs of a more settled spell as we go towards the beginning of next week. We will of course
04:15be keeping you up to date with everything as we go through the next couple of days but
04:18you'll definitely want to check out the 10 day trend with Anna later on. Bye bye.
